I have worn glasses for the last eight years with the same prescription for the lens the whole time. Somehow I did not know that lens prescriptions are for a year till I lost both my pairs. Then I shopped around based on a low exam price and learned that is a way to get reeled in to paying an outrageous lens and frame price. I am buying the expensive fitted pair one time and from now it is online catalog glasses. Facepalm multiple times here.
http://www.zennioptical.com/ Make sure you get the doctor to write down your pupil distance, then you can order from this link.
You can have a giant wardrobe of glasses for the price of one pair from the optometrist's shop.
Don't think it would work for me. I always have to have mine bent. They need to be crooked in order to look straight!
I'm sorry about your ear. Speaking of the ad acceding problem. It should be clear up by now. Can you clear up history and cache? I'm not good at it. Hope someone see me that I'm mistake and take over and explain it to you better
Good ol' youtube!I have one ear much lower than the other, and lopsidedness from facial paralysis, so mine too need adjusting.
My husband watched a youtube tutorial, so he now can adjust my frames.
Thank you Bottesini, I did get that pupil distance. I tried to get a copy of the frame measurements from the fella working me over for the actual frames and lenses fitting. It was a horrible high cost set up but at least I have an actual fitted pair of glasses.cost for an exam and glasses with a two waiting period and no insurance in Palmer, Alaska came to $715.00. That was with progressive lenses and a bit of customizing. Base cost for two progessive lenses with a not horrible correction top and bottom came to $270.00 and the frames were $230.00. One set. Exam $160. Am I being a whiner or is that high?

That the court house in my city is the longer running one in the country.
I also learned that my city will have a plastic bags with handles ban by March-April 2015 . Does anyone else have this ban yet? And how is it working ?
We have plastic bag bans here in Northridge, and they also have them in Pasadena (another place I go to frequently). It's working pretty well. Most stores carry bags for 10-15 cents each, for people who don't have reusable bags (or enough). I like it.
Sometimes it can be a pain if you don't remember to bring bags, but overall it's great.
While visiting San Francisco a couple of weeks ago, I stopped into a drug store. I did not know about the charge for bags. The cashier have me a paper bag after she saw my questioning face when she didn't give me a bag for my 3 items...without charging me since she had already rung up my order. If I had known, I probably would have remembered I had a string bag in my backpack & used that.
I reuse my free plastic shopping bags for multiple purposes, such as lining waste baskets, picking up dog poop, bagging up stuff for give away and Goodwill, storing small stuff, etc. TCS uses them around the house for keeping things tidy when he's painting, working on the vehicles, cleaning tools, etc. When we travel, we pack shoes in them. For fishing and camping they come in very handy. We reuse just about every one of them.We have plastic bag bans here in Northridge, and they also have them in Pasadena (another place I go to frequently). It's working pretty well. Looks like it is time for stores in those areas to put up signs. But then if it is just one of many it can get missed in the clutter.
