There is a exploit in internet explorer where people can have you click on a link and it will direct you to thier site, while it looks exactly like the site you intended to visit, even has the correct url in the url box. I recieved an email from us bank lastnight asking for my information. Well being i dont use them for anything except my 401k i knew it was a bunch of bs as they dont even have my email. So, read up on this, tell everyone, dont be fooled just because it looks real.

I'm not surprised. It's happened before with other similar methods. I just use my common sense when using information on the internet.

This is beyond common sence. They can make the url at the top of your page say www.alldeaf.com and have the page you view be anything they want so long as its a url you click on, and not one you type into the box. So, if you type the url, your always ok, if you click a url, your trusting that web page to show you what you asked for.

Exactly what I mean. I've already got AllDeaf bookmarked in my computer so it takes me to the real AllDeaf, not the secret modified URL that we don't see. When visiting websites that are referred to me through emails and AIM, I usually do it myself by hand or use my bookmarks.

i only use my websites for searching, any other hyperlinks and etc. in e mails can go BYEBYE i won't open any of those never know they have virus, unless i asked someone to send me a hyperlink for a certain site in e mail if i am away then fine no way will i allow myself to be screwed!

This should still be sticky. I'm getting more and more of these scams sent to me in the email every day. Microsoft still hasnt even put anything on their website about it, as they believe it is only a minor bug, and there wont be a patch available till the end of febuary. If someone asks your for account information, or says something about your account is in jepordy, or something, do not click the link, call them, or type their website adderess yourself, and find a link from there to email them, or have someone call for you. Do not fall victom to these scams. These people mostly live outside the united states, and will never be found guilty of stealing your money. If they take your money, then you will never see it back. Make and keep this sticky!!!!
