Sweet, looks like a nice house.

Do you believe the ghosts?

I don't believe the ghosts, but I don't have that much money. If they just gave it away, I would be delighted to live there.

what Naisho posted the photo of that house looks different what i saw when i was a kid. Maybe the rumors were wrong about that house what we kids saw years ago. LOL.

Could be that the ghost decided to remodel the place.

I heard they tore down the original house, cause too many freaky religious tourists were coming by to see &/or 'cleanse' it. *shrugs* I told JClarke that I'd bring him by once he came back LOL. We shall see now.

If you have enough money and buy this house, you would have a ghost party every night.

It is a part of a horrible history..not for everyone.

Nope, same house, the part of the house that you're used to seeing was the side of the house, thus this image...

The Hollywood version is this...

The difference is the windows, they made the windows to look more menacing, especially at night when the lights are on.

Whoops, my bad.....

The house known as 112 Ocean Avenue still exists, but it has been renovated and the address changed in order to discourage sightseers from visiting it. The famous quarter round windows have been removed, and the house today looks considerably different from its depiction in the films.

They did change it. Can't say I blame them.

Street view of the house via Google Street View

Whacked, anti-link code or something...

Just go to Google Maps and type in "112 Ocean Ave, Amityville, NY 11701" in the search box, click on the red "A" arrow on the map and keep clicking it until you reach "street view" and pan to the house. You may need to click the arrow on the road to move to a better view.

Wow, that's a nice color. Definitely the same house but it looks so much better!!!!! I'm a native Long Islander. That house is about 45 mins across the Island from my hometown. Seems like that beige color is one of the top colors in painting houses on Long Island. My old house got painted a light yellowish tan. It looks fabulous!
