the price seems unreasonable consider that you can get VP for $100 now. Plus you can use program (Envision) to do that and it even log in the VP phone number and its ip.
 
Jin, man, it's a recording device. Answering machines cost more than a plain-vanilla telephone these days.


My only thought is that it needs to be more convenient than that for it to catch on -- I mean, I want a device that will let me see how many messages I have, etc. This sounds too complicated for the target audience to use -- most videophone users aren't computer friendly and prefer a simple, remote control device to access the device.

Since I can't find it anywhere on the scottwireless site, I can't draw any conclusions on how easy it will be to set up. Does it let people know you're away, please record your message after the beep (beep!)?

I think that VP+ is great for saving calls from Deaf friends, but I noticed most relay services already have a answering service through videorelay. Is VP+ really necessary for getting incoming videorelay calls?

You're exactly right. If you're not receiving a call from a hearing user via VRS, then the VP+ MIGHT be a good idea. However, I still don't see it as being user friendly enough to own. I'd rather have my friends find another way to contact me than to have a cumbersome recording device.

I wish that we would get IP caller device. Not needed to buy vp answering machine and another vcr.

Some callers use Sorenson VRS to call and no answer. This interprefers call back to them. They have ip caller id.
I want IP caller id device or download software
 
I am picking up reliable wind that Deafworks stole Vpcorder ideas. I'll keep eye out for legal documents.

You're asking for WAYYYYY too much from the internet right now. It's the age old issue of internet privacy vs. internet security. Right now, all your VP calls are private because no one knows who you are on the internet.

If you start adding the ability to use "IP-Caller ID", then people know who you are and can start snooping in and recording your VP conversations. Do you really want that? You've got nothing to hide, right? Or, do you? One misunderstanding and off to jail you go!

The "interpreter call back" is Sorenson's way of eliminating your privacy. They keep a log of who calls in and calls them back. When you first got your VP-100, they made you put in all that info, right?

The interpreter call back issue is a BIG ISSUE because it is NOT VRS. VRS means you can call RIGHT NOW, not in 15 minutes after waiting for an interpreter to become available. Hearing people don't have to wait 10 minutes to call someone.
