So, I went to a local deaf church last Friday. A couple of Fridays each month they have an ASL and Coffee Night. There were only a few people there. There were three members one was hearing and the other two were deaf.

It was wonderful! They were so excited to talk to me and even slowed down their signing so I had a chance of understanding. They also encouraged me by saying I was signing well - especially for only studying ASL for 10 weeks. They even taught me how to sign a simple hymm.

Before I knew it two hours had passed! It was a great experience and I look forward to going back to their next coffee night.

Sounds like you had a good time, Aimra! Let us know how you liked the church.

Thanks! I did have a great time.

There was not a church service when I was there - only the social.

I would go to one of their services but they have them the same time as my own church and I don't want to miss our services. Maybe they'll have a special meeting sometime though, at a different time, and I'll go to a service.
