Upstate NY man accused of killing, beheading dog -- Newsday.com

A Hudson Valley man is accused of fatally shooting a blind and deaf dog and then beheading the animal.

Police arrested 50-year-old Stanley Jablonka early Sunday morning and charged him with a misdemeanor violation of the state's Agriculture and Markets Law.

Tracy Sturgess of Woodstock says she was staying at Jablonka's Stanfordville home when her Great Dane Humphry was killed sometime between Saturday night and early Sunday.

Jablonka told deputies he shot the animal because he thought it was aggressive. He then decapitated Humphry with an ax, claiming he thought that was necessary for a rabies test.

Officials say the dog's rabies vaccinations were up to date and on file.

A telephone number for Jablonka couldn't be found and authorities didn't know if he has a lawyer.

That poor dog died a painful & needless death.

Oh, that is sad. And there are not strong enough penalties for people who kill animals. :(

This is disturbing. It makes me wonder how he treats other people.

That's awful! :(

Those people who have no heart for the animals do not deserve to have the pets!

Also I wonder how that dog become blind and deaf? Maybe it was because that dog was abused in the past?

:iough: Glad I'm not that creep's friend. I don't want to know how he treats other people . . . that scares me and you know better than to scare me, deafskeptic! :)
