Yo, Folks!

Anyone have a suggestion regarding audio alarm systems? My problem is that, without my ears, I could not, from the bedroom, hear a smoke alarm downstairs, much less an attempted break-in, or the cat barfing up a hairball. I wonder if there is some sort of wireless system with which I could have transmitters downstairs and a receiver/speaker next to the bed which would enable me to detect any untoward sound (NOT infrared "motion" sensing) from the lower floor.

Any ideas?
 
To my knowledge, Sonic Alert provides the devices for those.

My Sonic Alert alarm clock has an option that enables it to receive other signals (from other Sonic Alert devices around the home). I could install a Sonic Alert smoke detector, doorbell, baby monitor, etc. If any of those go off, the light will flash (and/or) my alarm clock will vibrate.
 
I don't know how much hearing loss you have, but we use a baby monitor. Not expensive and you can turn the volume up pretty high. We had to use this when I got out of the hospital I slept on the couch because I couldn't make it upstairs. So my husband now can hear me if I need him or if I'm in trouble. Won't work the other way around because I'm completely deaf. Hope this helps. Good luck!!! I've read you can get flashing fire/burglar alarm. Ok if your awake but if asleep won't work.

Good information. I didn't know the Sonic Boom had all those other features. Must look in to this soon. I definitely need to know when someone comes into the house. Scares other crap out of me.:angel:

I just ordered the Sonic Boom alarm clock as I didn't sleep all night thinking I wouldn't wake up for early doctor appt. cel phone vibration not very loud. If you have any info on the Alert System would love to hear it. Thanks:angel:
