Largest cheering team-world record set by McDonald's
[April 24] BEIJING, China--Chanting the slogan "Wo jiu xihuan Zhongguo ying," which roughly translates to "I love it when China wins," over 1,200 young people selected from a nationwide campaign danced in unison for five minutes at the National Olympic Sports Center, setting a world record.
. . .

McDonald's says its cheer is part of a wider effort to make the brand's restaurants into places for people inside China to celebrate -- and even gather to watch -- the Games.

Many of McDonald's restaurants in China have televisions. "We are an international company, no doubt about that," says Ms. Cheung. "What we are doing is being locally relevant, rather than getting into the arena of playing up nationalism."

Hmm . . . which fast food joint is more patriotic than the other?

Hey, wait a minute . . . McDonald's has televisions in China?

We, in Australia have televisions in McDonald's too

Well, McDonald's is an international corporation more than it is as an American corporation. They pretty much sponsor the nation's athletes for the Olympics in every country they are in.

I've never thought of McDonald's as an American company since it's everywhere in the world.

Yeah, it is - since I see as it is always there at every corner whenever you walk by

That's interesting, I don't like McDonald's foods.

Everybody knows that the problems of obesity arises out of these Americans . . . the birthplace of McDonald's.

McDonald's is synonymous with the United States of America. You cannot deny that.
