Do anyone ever have an experience of having Umblicial hernia before? I wonder?

I have it for 3 yrs.. my dr told me i have it as they found it on ct-scan. He asked me if its bothersome? I said no? it doesnt? he said if it doesnt hurt you then not need surgery.. but now? lately its been bothersome and when its stuck inside it hurts like hell! and couldnt walk fast either? lol.. so i went back to dr and told him its bothersome to me now! he said ok referred me to the surgeon. I have already set the date for surgery which is Nov 3. so just wondering if anyone have it? hmm..

Wish me luck! I sure will need prayers and thoughts for my recovery from this surgery! :)

Good luck and hopefully get recovery soon

Oh wow - that is a long time. That's awful. My sister had this problem about five years ago. She said that it swelled in one year later that made her the pain. She had the surgery to correct the position. Be advise to bring your small basket near your bed at home due some medicines makes you vomit. The medicines relieve your pain after the surgery. You will not able to pick up your baby or some heavy subjects for six months otherwise, you will have to go back for a 2nd surgery to re-correct the position. I am sorry that you have the problem. You definitely will be fine in a few days after the surgery. You will have a big relief for sure.

yeah but it didnt bother me? i had tubal ligation 3 yrs ago.. and i picked TJ up.. dr told me not to lift anything for 6 weeks. opps.. i lifted my son up too soon.. thats how and why i got the hernia. jeez. i didnt felt it then? i didnt even know it was hernia? til ct-scan .. lmao.. anyway it didnt hurt till couple of months ago it started.. i guess cuz of sit up excerises?

i already know that i cant tolerate the gas .. they will give me the anti-nausea medicines to prevent such attacks. so dont worry! i had 2 surgeries already.. so i know what to expect.. ha..

Oh yeah.. my son is big boy now.. he is 7.. i cant lift him anymore. lol.. so no worry.. heh.. Thanks for the tips anyway! :)

Oh, gee. I am pretty sure that your doctor really means 6 months - not 6 weeks because of the long healing due soft tissues. That's what my sister did for 6 months. She is hearing...

the book i have said... no heavy lifting for a week.. jeez.. not stupid.. but good question.. i will ask dr again about that.. hmm .. but didnt know 6 months. i only know 6 weeks...

thanks for the tip.. :)

Can't say I've heard of umbilicial hernia. I do hope the surgery'll go smoothly and that you'll heal quickly.

seen many different types of hernias.....some that'd blow your minds away. Most umbilical hernias are harmless and are usually secondary to lifting prematurely postoperatively from some other proceedures. Some patient's though can get recurring umbilical hernias in which more invasive interventions are done.

sigh.. i am glad ct-scan found. it has been long time since i had seen you being pains. i am exciting you will feel better. hope you will get recover fast. and also think of you too. take care. wow.. that is wonderful to know.

the dr found it 3 yrs ago on ct-scan not recently. it was painless.. never hurt... till i started excerising couple of months ago.. thats when it started ...

Good Luck, and I hope your surgery and recovery will go well for ya.
