Anyone know Matt Hamill for the upcoming season of the ultimate fighter that makes its debut in April?? He's from Cinninnati (sp?) and is deaf. 2004 NCAA Division 3 Hall of Fame inductee. First US wrestler to win gold medlas in freestyle and greco at the 1997 wolrd games for the deaf. 3x NCAA division 3 champion at the National Technical Institute for the deaf. Has been featured in SI and NCAA News. 1997 Deaf Sports Federation Athlete of the year. Trains with UFC Heavyweight champion Rich Franklin.

This is awesome! I'm actually a bit jealous of him but I'll be rooting for him all the way!!! :D Hope he wins the contract with the UFC!! His picture is up there for those that are interested.)
 
That is cool about Matt Hamill! I am sure he will be face most tough in his lifetime into The Ultimate Fighter Season 3 with these guys who already taste MMA. My gut told me that he will be first choice by oppsite team to fight for the elimation match cuz of his never-be-in MMA match...but since he is training with UFC Middleweight champion Rich Franklin. That should be intersting to see how he can handle with MMA guys. I hope he will be choice to team up with Tito Ortiz's team which I met Tito and Ken at Mohegan Sun Casino for UFC events. I thought Tito was pleasure and cool to said "yeah, come here" for our photo pose. Also met Ken....true anushole guy when I asked him to sign UFC program..he acted like "what the fuck" then signed on back of program instead inside of the program (where his bio photo there) what I asked him during the autograph sessions....even I still say "Thank you" to him with in my mind "Fuck you!" LOL
 
I know him personally. We call him the hammer. That's his nickname. I once wrestled with him when I was drunk. oh boy he almost break my arm!

Whoa! What you think of his chance into The Ultimate Figher Season 3? Yup, I would support him all the way if he prove he is able to deal with harder training and fighting with experinced fighters there. I seen figthers who been whining during first two season of TUF series. Hope he will go all the way to final two or three guys. :thumb:

oh yeah he has a good chance. he is someone you wouldnt want to mess with. his XFO record is 3-0.
 
When will air show? What channel? HBO, ESPN!! I have no knowledge in USA channel.

April 6th at 10:00 pm after The Ultimate Fight Night (Live show at 8:00 pm - eastern time zone) on SpikeTV. I don't sure if Canadian tv station has SpikeTV.

There got another interesting beside that deaf fighter : TUF Coaches - Tito Ortiz and Ken Sharmock dislikes each other for years even after Tito won over busted faced Ken two years ago. I must said UFC will having Tito Ortiz vs Ken Shamrock II down the road as possible this summer (?)

Matt is a personal friend of our family.. My 22 year old deaf daughter and Matt have been friends for years. They went to school together and we live down the street from his Father. Matt is a wonderful young man and has a great record of achievement. We are all very proud of him and wish him the best of luck in his endeavor.

Matt we will be watching and praying for you!
 
Matt Hamill and I coached the JV wrestling team in his hometown of Loveland Ohio in 2002-2003. Not only is he a world class wrestler-- you have no idea how strong he is. He has incredible throw-around strength. His dad owns a local gym, "The Powerhouse" and Matt trained there for years. He looks like a strong guy, but really, you have no idea until he gets a hold of you. I have seen him demonstrate moves and injure people accidentally. By the time I came to Loveland to coach, he told me "Coach will only let me go 25%" (his stepdad was the head coach at the time, and Matt always called him Coach).
Trust me, 25% was more than anyone could handle! We had a kid who wrestled 152, and was State caliber. Ohio is consistently one of the top wrestling states in the country, and Loveland is a division 1 school. He was a real talent, but Matt felt like he didn't really apply himself. One day, Matt and I are sitting on the edge of the mat, and he's just zeroed in on this kid. He had been working him over (at 25%) all practice. He looks at me and says, "if he doesn't start working, i'm going to turn it up to 50% and put him through the roof!" Now, the ceiling in the wrestling room is pretty high, but I don't doubt that it was possible.
That is the type of guy Matt is. For him, there is the best, and then there is everyone else. I believe he placed 3rd at State in high school 1 year. He didn't even want to go on the awards stand.
If Rich Franklin has taught Matt solid submission offense and defense, I can't imagine he wont win the whole season. It's going to be fun to watch!
 
I'm a big fan of UFC, loves to watch the fight and I've been watching since UFC 1. The best fighter I've seen so far is Royace Grace. I'm looking foward to season 3 and should be interesting.
 
Woooo! Matt was first pick by UFC legand Tito Otriz out of 16 guys during "The Ultiamte Fighter Season 3". I was glad to see him to be pick by Tito cuz I met Tito as really outgoing person at Mohegan Sun Casino during Ultimate Fighting Championship events.

However Tito say he believe in Matt's heart to be champion of lightheavyweight of The Ultimate Fighter Season 3.

That was awesome to see Matt say "I want to be first deaf in UFC" in his sign language as well as he spoke.

I am with him all the way in any condition since I always dreaming to be in octagon to fight with a guy. I am giving my dreaming to him to live up.

Now, you see my Alldeaf screenname - MaxUFC. No wonder? LOL

whoo.. i bet that tito and Ken would fight before this july... they hate each other soooooo much. i cld even feel their tense.. gee.. i can see they have no respect for eah other. tito said he have no respect him as a person or as a fighter. none!! whoa....
 
Last night, I watched TUF 3, I cant believe Hamill was first draft by Coach Oritz, am looking forward Hamill will be in fight action against Shamrock's squad!! I hope Oritz's squad will win and Hamill will get contract and appear some PPV matches!!

Yeah about contract...I could telling that he will be on The Ultimate Night event if he lost during TUF 3 like other fighter like Chris Leban (reddest dyed hair), Sam Hoger. Stephen Bonnar and Keith Jardine whom lossers of TUF 1 - 2 then appeared on The Ultimate Night last night. I would like to see Matt will do his best to ladder into top 10...image that he would face Tito Ortiz and UFC Lightheavyweight champion Chuck "Iceman" Liddell down the road! :eek3:

Yeah, we will see Ortiz-Shamrock II this July! In fact, I didn't respect Ken Shamrock for what he dissed me for my request for his autograph...Tito was real outgoing guy and took his time to take a photo/autograph with me and friends at Mohegan Sun Casino for UFC events few years ago.

I have some questions I hope one of you could answer

1) Is it true that he beat Kurt Angle in a wrestling match? If so, was it by pin or by points? Was it an unofficial friendly match ? When did it happen? More info on this plea.se.

2) Did Mark Coleman really break Matt's nose? How did that happen? Anything related to the both of them having the same nickname ("Hammer")?

3) Is the referree going to have to tackle Matt when the round ends?? How will Matt know the round is over? Someone else said that in his first two fights, that is what was done.

4) For those of you who know him well and have trained with him, I'd love to hear more about his physical strength and feats... stories, exploits, and so forth... I don't care if it gets to the point of hyperbole...I enjoy reading your responses...

he did that?? damn thats not good. he shld be glad to sign anyones paper cuz that show him how important he is to them.. but guess now u know "who" he is.. yeah i can tell he have so much pride and ego in him. I could tell Tito is much nicer and respect people. YES!!! im so happy tito picked Matt FIRST!! WHOOO!!!! i of course will ROOT for him all the way!! just like other said! i second tht!! =)

What? I was root on Shamrock when he was in WWF, ha... Now I will root on Oritz cuz his first draft is Matt Hamill! I bet Oritz will kick Shamrock's @$$ in July PPV!
