I came across this on Google while googling " war footage " and I was not looking for this at all. Interesting in that time period the 1960's US Soldiers in Vietnam had it really bad because they were fighting the bad guys who also were experienced in hand to hand combat fighting and had a decade of warfare under their belts. The US soldiers were not doing it to protest for peace or anything like that.

That was how bad combat was. They needed something to relax after a crazy shooting war. This was against U.S. Army official regulations as well as a disregard for personal gun safety.

This is from a doucmentary film.... " The War on Drugs " giving a timetable from the beginning to the present. I find it alittle disturbing that they still portray the Vietnam veterans in a negative light. Many Vietnam Veterans served our country very positively, built roads, schools and many good things it was not always the fighting but the US soldiers really helped the people of Vietnam with many positive things. The returning US Soldiers that used their military training the wrong way upon return to the States really ruined it all for the good Vietnam veterans who served with honor and I am sure some did need something to relax after an harrowing encounter with enemy combatants.

Many Vietnam Veterans served with honor and integrity and returned to become successful businessmen and good fathers to their kids and be a good husband to their wife.

If you haven't seen the movie, "Born on the Fourth of July" it is a must see. This is as close as it gets and you will see how vehemently the vietnam vets are treated, in contrast to the vets in Iraq, fighting for oil and they call it a war. :laugh2:

Saw the movie....I think the movie Mel Gibson made was much more accurate.

It is a war in Iraq and it is not so much about the oil but the freedom of the Iraqi people.

Have you seen on the History Channel ... " Shootouts " ?

Alots of Aghanese / Iraqi gun battles between US and allied troops and the much hated terrorist jackals. This past year in church , a US soldier who returned from the fighting told the church of how he had to shoot a 12 years old girl wrapped in shahida white clothing. She was a suicide bomber. He was only 20 years old and had to shoot her dead or his friends and him will be blown up along with the shahida girl , on the top of that.... he had to be in a gun battle at the same time she was hurling herself towards them and the bad terrorists almost automatically focused all the gunfire onto him as soon as they realized he was gonna shoot that girl. That whole time he was crying through disbelief and shock as he shot his M-16 rifle that a 12 year old girl hurled herself towards her own death and afterwards he beat the sh*t out of the terrorists and the father of the daughter ripped one of the terrorists apart right in front of him with his own bare hands , punched him so hard and ripped the skin off the bad terrorist's face and body frame. That was how so upset and angry the father was. One of the terrorists later in interrogration laughed sadistically and bragged how they raped and forced the girl to do shahida for them. There are two types of shahid bombings... the willing and the forced. This is not so much about the oil , it is about the freedom of the people. Both Saddam and the terrorists are evil and needs to be physically stopped !!!!

The US soldier said we need to support the Iraqi people. They are the real innocent ones. He spoke angrily about how the news media was not telling the truth.

I agree to a point, but there are treaties, as well as the Geneva Convention in place and need to be adhered to. GWB cannot override this because his old man couldn't get the job accomplished and he needs to bury the hatchet. There are agreements and treaties in place for a reason and they can't be broken, but GWB disagrees. It is no wonder that US citizes are having problems in international travel. Unfortunately, I no longer believe that the Iraqi people even want freedom and Bush will stop at nothing until ALL of our service personnel are killed. Why doesn't he send his own bitch daughters over there? Bet he'd change his mind about this whole fiasco in a heartbeat if he saw those two clowns sporting firearms, fighting alongside of the others, as well as eating dirt and sweating.

Pek, I have a question if you were a soldier would you send your daughter into that mad mayhem house. I know alots of people criticize GWB but are they really seeing past the issue? I would go fight the terrorists but I sure would not want my daughter in the middle of it. My son, if he is mature and responsible enough to not get himself killed then yes I would let him sign up for the military service if he truly understands this stuff is for eternity.

NOPE!! My kids will NOT fight for oil so we, in the United States, can save a nickel per gallon for gas. I will treat my kids principles, and this is not a principle, it's an out of control jackass sitting in the White House that wants this damn war for his oil buddies. I don't see any of them over there, do you? Besides, this oil doesn't belong to us...it belongs to the Queen.
