oh I'm sorry but when he stepped up on in the spotlight, what was he? Vice President or a parent?

I see nothing wrong if any politican feel want to share their personality view to the public sometimes.

Anyway, Biden let everyone know about his personality view because the virus is very, very, serious one.

Don´t you forget that most politicans do have family. :) You will see different if you has a family.

You have lost your mind. That doesn't have anything to do with the fact that 51% of Americans had at least one computer in their household in 2000. You don't need academic research to discover that.

Actually yes you do. Here's why....

Here's another one for you:

Nearly 75% of U.S. households have Internet access at home, according to a Nielsen//NetRatings survey.

US Broadband Penetration Jumps to 45.2% - US Internet Access Nearly 75% - March 2004 Bandwidth Report

And another one:

More than half of the nation is now online
. In September 2001, 143 million Americans (about 54 percent of the population) were using the Internet — an increase of 26 million in thirteen months. In September 2001, 174 million people (or 66 percent of the population) in the United States used computers.Americans are going online to conduct an expanding range of activities.

How Americans Are Expanding Their Use Of The Internet

This is the digital divide:
The "digital divide" -- the divide between those with access to new technologies and those without --

Ruralfacts: Rates of Computer Ownership and Internet Use; A Comparison of Urban and Rural* Access for People with Disabilities

As you can see, the digital divide has absolutely nothing to do with the fact that more than half (a majority) of Americans have at least one computer in their home, that 66% used computers, and that 54% were using the Internet as far back as 2001. This is 2009. The numbers will have increased significantly since then.

Stop trying to BS your way through this and admit that you have been proven wrong by more than one source.

Now you show me your academic research that disproves it, Mr. IT professional. You don't have it. You can't find it. Face it. You spoke too soon in an attempt to throw your weight around and try to discredit me, and it has simply been turned on you. You should have stopped earlier. LOL LOL.

cute statistic you brought up but a VERY MISLEADING interpretation on your part.

from your source -
1.
Commissioned by the National Organization on Disabilities, the survey reported that respondents derived significantly greater positive impact from the Internet than adult Internet-users without disabilities. Despite these benefits, only about 25% of Americans with disabilities own a computer and about 10% are online, compared with 50% computer ownership, and 40% online use in households with no disability.

2.
Percent of Individuals Who Use the Internet Anywhere
With No Disability vs. With a Disability
Metropolitan 39.3 - 10.9
Suburban 41.9 - 11.116
Central City 36.4 - 8.8
Rural 33.1 - 6.8
Combined 38.1 - 9.9

3.
Of the total U.S. population, about one in three adults used e-mail from home in 2000, and nearly one-quarter used the Internet to search for information on topics such as business, health or government services.

4.
Among Internet users, 39 percent of individuals are making online purchases and 35 percent of individuals are searching for health information.

5.

1. just because they access the Internet doesn't mean it's on daily basis
2. just because they access the Internet doesn't mean they're using it the same way as we do (meaning - you do not know how they're using Internet - meaning they MOST LIKELY do not check out CDC/WHO)
4. just because they own computers do not mean they're connected to internet

I guess you were really counting on me to read and interpret these statistic and findings on superficial level. :nono: Unfortunately - I ran out of time and it's getting late as I have to leave for airport in 7 hours.

exactly. it's a serious MEDICAL issue. it's best left for CDC or any medical professional to give us the medical advice.... not politicians. That's why White House retracted and clarified his statement. it scared people. :nono:

and do you think majority of Americans have computers? and access to internet?

Why, yes, Jiro, they do. And you certainly do. Why don't you use the credible sites? Those that do not have access to computers have access to newpapers and television and radio. CDC and WHO information is everywhere.

i'm sorry but your statement is FALSE. Take it from the person's word whose qualification and expertise is in IT field. If you don't believe me - a simple google search can show you. :)

Who said I didn't? I'm concerned for Americans because of Biden's remarks..... and the pigs-to-be-slaughtered! OH NO!

Unfortunately... in real world - both President's and Vice President's voices carry with a far more authoritative weight than CDC and WHO. That's why it's very important for them to carefully word their statement. That's why White House has press secretary and speech writer. :)

Biden's already admitted that he's known to speak frankly that can be easily misconstrued as something else. "Sometimes maybe I shouldn't be as straightforward as I am," Biden said Sunday on CBS' "60 Minutes."

Again - why did White House retracted and clarified his statement especially since you said "Biden just speaking for one noe other than himself." (in your own word from post #68) ? You've been avoiding my question.

It is clear that she askes to rely on the CDC and WHO...

You didn't say owned computers...you said had access to. The vast majority of American have access to a library. Libraries have computers with internet access. So my statement is far from false. Perhaps you should phrase your quesitons more carefully.

Oh,yeah, you need to be afraid for Americans because of Biden's statement. It is going to destroy this country overnight! :laugh2: But I guess your concern is understandable, given the fact that you have already stated that the majority of Americans are incapable of logical and intelligent thought.

And that would be no one, not noe one.:cool2: The statement was clarified to prevent people like you from misinterpreting the meaning in the way you have.

You're mistaken. It's opposite - Jillio said majority has access to internet. I've said everything opposite of what Jillio said.

EXACTLY!!! that's what i've been saying!!! That's why it's called Digital Divide. People who do not have access to internet vs. People who do. And people have significant advantage of those who do not have access to computers AND/OR have computers at home.

you just agreed to what I just said. No wonder you were confused... You're a victim of Jillio's classic tactic when she's losing the argument - obfuscation and flooding. :)

Bold statements. I find you digging' to turn around and to insult me, and to continuously to insult, and troll Jillio. When I have went back and re read the thread and (re)posted some. Until, I got sick of it. If anyone disagrees with me, please let me know. but this is :bsflag: Especially when one admits they agreed all along! But keeps trolling, a specific member.

Jiro! Your attempt to cover your own backside by insulting others, is not cool!

I hereby, strip you from your cool glasses!

:P

Mod note:

I'm going to close this thread up for review. :locked:

Time to cool things down.
