For about a week now, my eye keeps twitching up to 50 times a day. It is not on the side of my implant so it cannot be my implant. Any ideas why

it is very mild and has happened before.

eye twitching can have a variety of causes such as fatigue, too much caffeine, squinting alot or working in an environment where lighting is poor and you cannot see well. it can also be caused by staring at a computer screen for long periods of time.

treatments that may help include rinsing your eyes with warm water, using eye drops, applying hot or cold compresses and taking a hot bath.

not to scare you, but more persistent eye twitching can be a sign of stress, epilepsy or neurological damage.

if this concerns you, i would see an eye doctor or opthalmologist.

Eye twitching is usually very benign and is known as fasiculations. They occur in any muscle, but commonly the eyelid. As Hear Again said, the common things that worsen them are caffeine and stress. They usually disappear as quickly as they arrived.

When you find out, please let me know. Hubby's left eye has been twitching for at least 30 years, and we still don't know the reason. Some doctors said it was sinus pressure, or eye fatigue, or allergies. He had surgery in the muscles of both eyes when he was 5 years old. But the twitching is just one eye. :dunno:
