That sounds like an interesting book. Yet, it's not for me. The only problem I had were controlling religious parents. ;)

I've grown out of it. :)

Would this book apply to toxic IN LAWS?? Grrr..my inlaws just called to inform me that they will not be attending my daughters graduation as 9 am is just too early for them to be up and at the school. (they live 20 minutes away) Broke my daughters heart... I'm struggling to deal with this constructively and in a way that will set an example for my daughter. I am real tempted to take GalaxyAngels 'flipping the bird' gramma picture and send it to them, but its probably not the 'classy' way to handle this. LOL

By Susan Forward - yes. I read it long time ago. Good book!

yes it is a very good book.. it's helping me to heal and confronting the past.. I need to confront my mom and her boyfriend when the time is right. I need to work on healing myself first.

People are always telling me to be so forgiving when I know for a fact that sometimes forgiveness does not work because the word, Sorry just is a green light to walk all over people then I have people tell me, you believe in God !!!!! and they run then chase after me, and tell me " Why are you not forgiving that person or people. How can you be cruel to them? " I told them I am not being cruel. I know the truth, Then they bring their head back and laugh. I am just staring into their eyes and their souls then they suddenly look down like the cowards that they are and they walk away still laughing but more quiet this time. I know the truth and that is why I am very hard on alots of people because some people do need a different approach when dealing with different people.

It does not always have to do with parents but with alots of different people I deal with on everyday basis.

Here is what a customer's reviewer said.....

She sheds a brilliant light on the act of forgiveness, and how the general concept of "total forgiveness" is not always best with toxic parents.

You might be suprised but when you grow strong you eventually will forgive..

I gotta get that book.

My dad and his wife were very toxic people to me. That is why I don't talk to them. I don't visit them anymore. I'm much happier this way.

It sounds good. I beleive it would helps my niece and nephew. My childhood was not happy one but I did successful to move on with my own life but I hope it would do the same with my niece and nephew. Their childhood were not happy one, they were being neglect and treat horrible by their mother in the past. Their mother blames my mother for that... now my nephew blames his mother for that... what a sad. Their mother and I are closed sister and protect each other against our toxic step-dad and mother..... Now my sister turn into wrong path and her life is end... :(

I gotta get that book and leave it around the house.

My Dad's always threatening me and treating me like I'am a retard and don't know the English language, and it's only been during the previous two years since he met my counseller at the Canadian Hearing Society in Toronto!

The irony of it!!!!!

The social services have agenda's they have to follow!
