Tornado outbreak

you do realize that these people are armchair weathermen?

Ah, you missed their source links at the bottom. Check again. They're supposed to cite their source if something like this happens-- I used to do Yahoo Answers a couple years back. Was really good at it, too.

no I did not miss it. there is a reason why we don't use yahoo answers.... they're bunch of armchair experts.

just because source are linked there doesn't mean they're right or they really do understand it. it's like a commercial - "4 out of 5 doctors recommend it."

Let's not forget that some areas do get tornadoes in the wintertime, like IL does. We have gotten February tornadoes the last three years (2012-14), and November tornadoes last fall. The Feb. 29th, 2012 Harrisburg, IL tornado was an EF4.

oh dear oh dear..... I'm guessing this thread will be wiped off by a tornado again?

Kansas City is far windier and deserves that distinction. ;)

You can have it. LOL. I don't much care for the winds, especially when I'm riding my bicycle, and those winds are strong enough to knock me off and do some serious damage to not just my body but my ego.

I really cant see that.... I really cant.
I rode BMX freestyles most of my childhood/Teen/young adult life daily!
Has the wind ever knocked me off my bike? Hell no. Did it blow me around a bit, yeah just couldnt stay exactly in line to where I was....
If I got knocked off, it was due to neglect ( freestyling, not looking where I was going...ect..)
Even on a Motorcycle you get blown around a little worst than in a car, but the wind just doesnt knock you off , come on Mark, come back to reality.
Now I know some places have really windy weather and chicago isnt one of them unless its a tornado, and in those places, the wind will litterally knock you off your feet....But you dont live in any of those places.

Does your bike have ape hanger handle bars?

Oh wow, no way that I would live in Midwestern states - too cold. :cold:

I dont think its cold there, it is fairly nice here in the big Mo and we are like brothers to IL....lol
I am right on the border of Ill/Mo state line right off the Mississippi River and its warm out, only 5 hours to chicago.

I beg to differ. Chicago does have really powerful winds here, and we can get gusts up to 50 MPH if the conditions are ideal for that to happen. For the most part, though, we get wind gusts up to 35-40 MPH, and unless you've been here and lived here, don't tell me that ain't nothing.

Wrong again. It's barely past 45 degrees.

Well, I'm southern and have strong ties with southern culture and got used to hot climate with mild winter.

It look like we're getting normal storm . We had some rain and the clouds moved out ands came back. One weather reporter said he guess the clouds likes us so much they came back, I wish he had said why they where moving back .

we normally have 30-40mph gusts and can get upwards to 60-75, yeah its nothing. Ive lived with my uncle in Il, in the middle of farmlands... been there, done that...its nothing. My guess is longer arms have better balance here.
