My co worker had to land at JFK from out of USA and She was stuck in NYC for this past two days. She got back last night. She told me that she heard that some people in nyc are looking for people to help out if they do then they will get paid 15 to 20 bucks per hour. She wasn't sure what was it but something with shoveling, snowblower or car plow. Shame on NYC!

Yes. I read and saw some pictures online. Mayor Bloomberg ordered snow plowers to clear off the streets in Manhattan. For SI, Queens, the Bronx, and Brooklyn areas, some streets have not plowed yet. The residents were very angry at Mayor Bloomberg about lack of plowing on other streets in other boros than in Manhattan.

On the bright side, Mayor Corey Booker of Newark is doing outstanding job for the city of Newark. He went outside all days and nights to inspect any unplowed streets and demanded them to clear off the snow on the streets. He even delivered baby diapers to a snow bounded resident who is out of baby diapers. Wow.

I guess, Mayor Bloomberg should take a lesson or two from Newark mayor? :hmm:

I just got back from CA. Landed at LGA with no problem at all. Came back to my car snowed in still... And I don't own a shovel. Ugh.

perhaps, buy one or borrow someone else who have a shovel?

I know there is nothing news with NYC when it comes to the blizzard issue. I paged my brother to see what's up knowing him working in nyc. He replied, "bad"... "no politics". eh. haha

Yeah, I was told by my parents that the whole LIRR system at Penn Station shut down due to the power outage after waiting for hours to get on the train back to LI, instead they decided to go to the hotel nearby until the next day.
