Why in the hell they gotta kill the tiger!!:dunno: They could have tranquilized it with a dart gun!!! Theres no need to kill a tiger he wasnt threating anyone! :pissed:
The killing of the tiger

Oh dear!

Why cant they use shot to sleep the tiger then carry him back to zoo instead of shot to kill the tiger. :squint:

The couple who own "Assistance for exotic animals in emergency" for wild cats in their Villa of small village few km away from villiage where I live. One of wild cats escaped out of villa's gate and walk around to villiage that's time my 2nd son was baby. They do everything to get him back to Villa without KILL him.

Oh no, it broke my heart. I am fond tigers, lions and cats !!!

I agree the tiger should be tranquilized, But I also read that the wildlife group thinks that the houses, schools are at threaten and also they had no choice because a tranquilizer could have taken 10 minutes to 30 minutes.. So we have to see where they are coming from too. And they also said that the tiger appears to be hungry too because it was thin and old.. anything is possible someone can be in dangerous of the tiger. It is sad indeeded that the tiger was shot instead of tranquilized.

Yep, Cheri that was it... that's pretty sad for something happen like this. :(

Shooting an animal with a tranquilzer with still allow it to roam for another 10 to 20 minutes. When an animal is shot, they may respond as freaked-out and that might make them more agressive and at risk of injuring others. I don't blame them if they didn't use tranquilzers. Sure, I think they could have used tranqulizers... but I'm not going to get mad at them for not doing so.

I happen to think of it now, why couldn't they use a throw net? It would have slow the tiger down after the transquilizer shot. :dunno:

From watching the news, they were upset that they had to kill the tiger. But, they said it was between a residential area and a hiway. I am more upset with the stupid idot who had the tiger.

That's sad. I hate when that happens, they could have put it to sleep with a super transquiler or something. Tigers are rare today. :(

Yes I agree, Why didn't they do that? ummm strange.

What would you do if you saw a 400-lb tiger walking towards you? You have a gun in your hand. Would you wait for the animal control to arrive with tranqulizers or shoot it yourself?

It didn't happen that way.
That is like asking, What would you do if you saw Bush walking towards you with a huge hunting knife in his hand, a mad gleam in his eyes, and he was muttering that he would kill you, and you had a gun in your hand?
Would you call the police or just shoot him?

oh man, poor tiger!! Arghh i am animal lover!! dang .. Tiger was so innocent cat!! poor tiger!!

I like animals too. One has to wonder where this one came from. And the blame for what happened to it rests squarely on it's owner. Keeping wild animals as pets is crazy to begin with. To not keep them safely contained is criminal.

This tiger weighed about 400 pounds. They have claws and teeeth about 4" long. They can run 60 kph, and can jump 30 feet in a bound. They are predators and their instinct is to kill. Remember when the magician Roy Horn got attacked by one of his "pet" tigers?

A dart gun is very short range and slow acting. Felines are difficult to dose correctly too. How far could it have run in twenty minutes? What if it had run into a group of children and killed one? Difficult questions for sure. I'll stick with blaming the owner for the cat's death, not the animal control officers who's first duty was to keep the public safe.

Erm, yeah, Cheri. I agree with you. I feel like everyone else here..."WHY?" But, you have to look at all the factors involved. It was a residential area, and it appeared that the tiger was starving and/or sick. Animals are unpredictable, but a sick or injured animal is even more unpredictable. I think there needs to be dialog between local government and wildlife specialists to determine what is best for the animal, as well as, what is best for human safety. Killing exotic animals is such a waste.

 I'd shoot him! ;)

After all, it is rumored that he is the anti-christ himself!
