Romney calls to congratulate Walker.
“I congratulate Scott Walker on his victory in Wisconsin. Governor Walker has demonstrated over the past year what sound fiscal policies can do to turn an economy around, and I believe that in November voters across the country will demonstrate that they want the same in Washington, D.C. Tonight’s results will echo beyond the borders of Wisconsin. Governor Walker has shown that citizens and taxpayers can fight back – and prevail – against the runaway government costs imposed by labor bosses. Tonight voters said ‘no’ to the tired, liberal ideas of yesterday, and ‘yes’ to fiscal responsibility and a new direction. I look forward to working with Governor Walker to help build a better, brighter future for all Americans.”

Romney Congratulates Walker, Says 'Tonight

Of course, Walker’s victory is about more than public sector unions. What Walker has demonstrated is that voters will ultimately reward politicians for showing political courage on the big issues if they have the resolve to see their policies implemented and watch them succeed. Enthusiasm for Walker among his supporters was off the charts because people are more willing to fight for a leader who has actually taken a stand. As the United States faces a looming fiscal crisis due to prior generations' unwillingness to tackle runaway spending on the entitlement programs of Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, wobbly-kneed politicians in Washington should look to Walker’s triumph in Wisconsin for inspiration.

On an historical note this election garnered 125,000 more votes than in 2010 for Walker. A testament that a mandate was made clear. And you can see the difference between 2010 and 2012 in this graph where Walker did much better in most counties in 2012 than in 2010:

Great! PM me and tell me where and we'll see.

Here's an article of an in-depth analysis on why (and how) Walker won. Simply put:
"Scott Walker won for a simple reason: He did what he promised to do as a candidate and it worked."

More:

One of the first things Walker did as governor, long since forgotten, was to return some $800 million in federal money designated for high-speed rail in Wisconsin. His argument was not complicated: The state doesn’t need it, and taxpayers cannot afford it. He was right on both accounts and his decision to return the money, even as Obama administration officials sought to force it on the state, sent a message that Walker was serious about doing business in a different way. The messy fight over high-speed rail in California, and the ever-increasing cost projections, suggest he was wise to avoid the headache.

Meawhile, post-morning or post-mourning (that's up to you) election results, get a load of these people tweeting for the assassination of Walker. I hope each one of them gets investigated for making a public threat. This was a democratic process. People voted and wanted to see Walker continue as governor and help continue increasing the state surplus of funds rather than a continuing downward spiral money pit with increasing state debt.

Analysis: Wisconsin now tougher for Obama, but still uphill climb for Romney - CNN.com
As for Romney, he mostly tiptoed around the recall fight like the president, declining to campaign in the state for Walker. But the presumptive Republican presidential nominee is likely to make an appearance in the state soon, sources tell CNN.

Romney tried to jump on Walker's coattails late Tuesday with a congratulatory tweet, saying the results "will echo beyond the borders of Wisconsin."

lol what a coward. reminds me of a few people.

It won't be matters because Obama doesn't have to win the Wisconsin to make victory for presidential reelection. He can wins other state to make up the number.

oic. I don't really care for Obama. If there is a more qualified President - regardless of blue or red, he's (she's) got my vote. at this point right now, GOP doesn't stand a chance. They have no viable Republican candidates because they practically character-assassinated each other. sad.
