Today voting ends on whether the people of Wisconsin pick Scott Walker to continue as governor or Democrat Tom Barrett to replace the governor seat of Scott Walker in this recall effort.

One poll yesterday had Walker up by 12 points among likely voters compared to being up by 7 points last week in a different poll. Note the bold below:

So, as fireworks continue to explode over the political horizon in the Dairy State, we asked 1,570 likely voters who they support in the June 5 election. Here are the results. …

Those surprising results would project at a 56-44 final win for Walker. HOWEVER, while Walker continues to lead Barrett, we once again caution readers that this is an extremely difficult election to predict. Turnout is king in all elections, and it may be even more important in this one. Wisconsin’s labor movement is keen to get as many of the anti-Walker voters to the polls as possible and have displayed the ability to rally their troops effectively. And Wisconsin regulations allow Election Day voter registration with a minimum of residency documentation–something that has both sides whispering of potential abuse from their opponents.

Expect a recount demand as some say this will "go down to the wire."

“We’re very much anticipating that there’s a chance that we could be in a recount scenario,” said Mike Tate, chairman of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. He said the party will have more than 440 lawyers in the field on Tuesday “doing election protection activities but also tasked with recount preparation, making sure that we know where absentee ballots are at, making sure that we have a strong handle on what’s happening out there.”

Wisconsin is tossup state so recall election will be very neck to neck so any recount can be possible if too close to call. The article polls aren't reliable and it doesn't prove for election so only final election result will telling.

It doesn't matters if republican and democrat governor wins so WI will have deadlocked state legislative that forced republican and democrat to work together. If democrat governor wins so conservatives will recall the governor so turn to election again in next year and more people are abusing the recall now. The government system in WI is getting more flaws now due to deadlock and recall.

My cousin lives in WI and he said both of republican and democrat governor candidates are crook. He is going move to CA this fall due to new job.

Many Americans are moving to sunbelt states for years and it isn't very long for internal migration turns into disappear with very high content of international migration. It is uncertain for WI to change the influence on election.

Obama sort of campaigns for Barrett.

President Barack Obama followed up his tweet in support of Mayor Tom Barrett’s efforts to unseat Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker today with a blast email to Wisconsin email lists beloning to his campaign and the Democratic National Committee.

Sent early Tuesday morning, the email says Barrett has “been a dedicated congressman and a great mayor, and he would make an outstanding governor for Wisconsin,” but makes no mention of Walker. The email’s late timing means it’s unlikely to make much of a difference in an election that has dominated airwaves with tens of millions of advertising dollars.

Yeah. Like I pointed out at the very beginning of this thread, this election will likely be an extremely close one...down to the wire stuff....and that recounts will be demanded and dragged out for the next 2 or 3 weeks.

If this election ends up close or in a Walker loss we are closer to civil war than I thought.

Probably the smartest thing obama has done.... He would have hurt the effort by showing up not to mention hurting his effort by tying himself to a loser

Well, Eric Holder is taking a special interest in the Wisconsin election. So is his interest in Florida on stopping Florida's effort to address ineligible registered voters (dead or alive) which do not count in an election.

Yeah they are desperate. But that is the Chicago way..... Bring in the criminal thug to watch over things. Maybe that will keep him from killing border patrol agents though.
