"Caught Up" ( Rapture )

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."

1 Corinthians 15:51-52
"Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed; In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed."

Matthew 24:42
"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come."

Titus 2:11-13
"For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men;
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.."

( Blessed hope = caught up )

CyberRed--one could also take that to be the moment of one's individual death. That's not something whose hour of coming we know, either, and it is also something that the believer looks upon with hope instead of dread. I believe in a Savior who can welcome each of us personally. :)

This does not state that we will be "staying in the air". The writer states that we will meet the Lord when he comes in the Second Coming - not the false "secret Coming of Christ" which Rapture teaches. It also states that "the Lord will descend with a shout". Not very secretive here, either. Also, this sort of intrepretation ignores the ancient custom of greeting conquering heros outside the city gates and accompany them into the city.

Once again, this does not prove Rapture. It shows the Resurrection of the dead at the Last Days.

Matthew 24:42
"Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come."

This has nothing to do with Rapture theory.

Titus 2:11-13
"For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men;
Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.."

Once again, nothing to do with Rapture theology. Blessed Hope = Christ's final coming (not the Rapture's "secret Coming of Christ").

Matthew 24:13
"But he who endures to the end will be saved."

Romans 5:2-5
"Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace 2 with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access (by faith) to this grace in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we even boast of our afflictions, knowing that affliction produces endurance, and endurance, proven character, and proven character, hope, and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the holy Spirit that has been given to us."

Scripture says Christ will come ONCE more, it does not say that he will come two more times as Rapture theory teaches.

In that event, I caution you to watch for a white, 2005 Ford F-150 4 door pick up truck going driver-less at 65 mph down da freeway! Or a Platinum White 2000 Dodge Durango. :ily:
