The new Volt hybrid car....a lemon.

I learnded to drive in a 1960 Ford Country Squire..... lol

Your money don't permission you to buy new car?

Buying a new car is stupid unless your goal is to waste money. 1st year depreciation and all.

The only thing worse is buying a new car on credit... Paying intrest on the lost value.

Driving my 2000 Honda Civic coupe is cheaper to operate than that $41k Chevy Volt for sure. I have 110k miles on the clock and only spent roughly $1,000 worth of servicing since I bought it with 39k in 2006.

I don't say about classic truck that you drove but I was point at your post about buy used cars to save it up.

1950's truck is far less fuel efficient than modern truck but gas price in 1950's was 20 cents per gal, how's sad.

what question is that, Foxrac?

In first question, I'm refer your post about buy used cars instead of buy new cars.

For second line, it is not question and I said it is sad to see 20 cents per gal isn't existed anymore.

No, if they have enough money or absolutely afford to buy new car so they aren't stupid, it do help to boost the auto industries, if no one buy new car so it could drive the auto industries down due low sales.

I would buy new car if I have high paying job and able to afford it in future.

Maybe you don't understand depreciation....

I have plenty of money..... I don't buy new..... Because it is dumb.

I will let the dummys do it and buy it a year later when they realize they can't afford it.

lol, I do understand but some people buy new car to boost the auto industries so it isn't dumb, man.

Well, some people are not in good control with their budget so that's not my problem. I can tell myself about budget and know about what do with.

and they always say - "my loss is your gain"

I've drove my Dad's 1957 Chevrolet pickup truck all the time.
My family had the 1954 Bel-Air in the baby blue. I still recall the rope hanging from the back of the front seat! I found one online. We did not have a white top, it was all blue.

:D

Ours was used by the local fire department for training. They lit it up, hacked a big hole in the roof, and put the fire out. It was not driven after that. All I know is the dashboard was steel, no padding.

That goes both ways. Before you start spouting on what a bad idea this Volt is (heavily government subsidized) I'd suggest you buy the Volt first before you open your mouth.

Love that simplified wisdom!

you just won't give up, don't ya? I knew something was off about you in your vblog. You have a certain tic which implies OCD.

I said it months ago! Obama has total control of Kokonut.

in my opinon, chevy volt is UGHHHHHH!. i'm not fan of chevrolet. i'm going to go with Konnichiwa cars. ;)

Back to topic

The volt is a Hybird of elec and gas. The gas engine is used only to charge the battery when it runs down. This would lead to the assumtion that you would go a lot further than 40 miles
Toyota has an all elec car that gets 100 miles but if you are not near an elec outlet at 99.9 miles you have to call AAA
The real point of this car and why obama supports it is that this is the first step towards the USA being able to thumb our nose at OPEC and that wack job Chaves down in south america.
We gotta get off the oil teat and this first generation AMERICAN MADE car goes a long way to getting this done. The $41k price will be offset because it will most liky be a leased car, so you can dump it when the batteries die.
But again the big thing is to get off that oil teat. We will also be able to watch russia die off with their big investments in oil production
