No, Oil companies really did nothing to squash these electric cars. It is EVERYBODY, know why?

Here is simple answer.... convienence! Everybody wants convienence. Who wants to find themselves stuck in middle when commuting to and from work? People wanted just to refuel their vehicles in NO time, oil made this possible with plenty of refuel stations all over and the refueling can take as little as one minute verses overnight for Electric cars. You take the jug with you and you can go practically anywhere! Can't do that with all electric

It is all about convienence, and I will NOT support ALL electric cars, and would NEVER dare buy this stupid vehicle called Volt with pricetag of $41K. I would rather get Hydrogen fuel vehicles instead of all electric. Why? It is all about convience, Fuel cell vehicle works almost same way as gas, but it is still run electrically that is coming out of Hydrogen that collides with oxygen, emitting nice H2o without carbon!

I agree with you. I dislike all electric cars. I really like both of fuel cell vehicle and plug-in hybrid vehicle.

The existing infrastructure supports both gasoline, oil and gas products including hydrogen via pipelines.

Before you go spouting off at how those nasty unions are driving American car makers broke, remember the CEO of Toyota makes around 1 million dollars a year in salary. I figure the guy making coffee for the CEO of General Motors earns that much.

Now, with your numbers in mind, I would pay 41k for the Honda before I would pay 20k for the Chevy. Most American cars have been junk since the oil embargo of the 1970's. Greed on both sides of the factory walls (union and management) have contributed to a product that only the most loyal customer can feel comfortable with. Also, the Honda is not a hybrid vehicle. There is a higher production cost for these, and a much higher demand. Supply and demand = capitalism. I doubt you would find fault with that strategy.

No worries though. You would never see me in a Chevy, unless I called a taxi.

I don't say about classic truck that you drove but I was point at your post about buy used cars to save it up.

1950's truck is far less fuel efficient than modern truck but gas price in 1950's was 20 cents per gal, how's sad.

It had the side exaust pipes along the side of the cab and he later removed them because of the rusting at the bottom of the pipes.

People still drive them today as well as many other classic or older cars.

No. I used to drive it when I was my Dad's house. Drove it alot. Lots of good memories driving it and growing up with it.
