Lucky bastards those Italian cops getting to drive round the Autostrada in a cop Gallardo. But they better come up with damn good excuses and explanations to the chief should they wreck the cop Lambo.....after all a Charger cop car costs what 25k a pop compared to 200,000 for the Gallardo.

In Italy, it probably costs alittle less Lira but 200,000 would be in U.S. Dollars and remember the Lira ( Italian money ) is counted alittle differently.

the gallardo was given to Polizia di Stato (the italian police) by Lamborghini on the Polizia di Stato's 152nd anniversary, so i don't think they really care haha, after all police cars are meanted to be abused.

 Unless the LA Cosa Nostra needs to make extra sure that the la polizia car is nowhere to be found, batteries un-hooked and spliced. It would not surprise me. The cheif of the police better be careful not to piss off the La Cosa Nostra because a couple of years ago in Sicily they threw up construction road work then wired and put explosives in the road and filled her up then when that prosecutor who was quickly becoming famous throughout Sicily and Italy was leaving the airport in a car then va-boom !!!! They made a movie about that on HBO I think and I can't remember the movie or that famous prosecutor's name ? That was a really good movie based on a true story.

lol, that car isn't really used much on the street, it's used to transport organs, and is usally used only in events and stuff :P

Dodge Chargers aren't supposed to be on the streets. :P Wanna know why? They are a waste of gas. You wouldn't need that car in NYC with all that bad traffic. They should have a Subaru Impreza WRX STI instead, it has enough oo mph while getting good gas mileage. I think V-8 pride is ridiclous today, that's back in 1960's...today is 2006. That's my opinion, I guess people need room in those cars, unlike Japan have short people so they can fit in those little cars.

there are soobie police car in japan though, I've seen the skyline GT-R police car (a faveorite), the soobie sti police car, mitsu 3000 gt.

still, there isn't much choice in North america, it's the usal crown victoria, impala, and the charger now, if there is to be the WRX sti police car, (there are a few WRX one's, but i havn't heard of sti ones) soobie will have to produce special versions of their car, better battery (to run the computers with), light bars, computers, and many other stuffs are needed to convert a normal car to a police car. not to mention that subaru are not really intrested in supplying North american police with the WRX sti.

North america pick any cars from american because they can afford. Any company like dodge, ford, chevy, etc.. so BIG discount for police, road work, etc.. plus cheap parts make in USA.

Makes sense....too bad America is so into V-8 power. :P

Honda Civic is affordable so why does police can't afford.

it's too small and probably lacking too much power, and they'll make horrid pursuit cars

And not to mention, There is not enough legroom for people who get arrested.

pff, they deserve to get poor leg room, and that also mean they have less room to struggle around :P
