I think you probably have a very low bar for what counts as islamophobia, xenophobia, homophobia, etc. You're not going to convince someone to stop hating gays or foreigners when they don't actually hate gays and foreigners but just have differences in policy preferences.

As for changing people, I was careful to say "if I thought I could influence him". Some people are just assholes and nobody can change that. However, if it's a close friend I've known a long time who started drinking heavily and hitting women, I'd probably try to convince him to get some professional help and plead guilty in court.

there's a difference between people who are homophobic and gay-friendly people who don't support gay marriage. Big difference. In my case - I will not be friend with person who is TOO homophobic.

A friend will not hit a woman in my presence or during my friendship because he knows what will happen :)

It is possible for 2 people disagree about one's lifestyle.....openly..... and still be friends. That is what I am saying.

A true Christan would want nobody to go to hell. If a person that claims to be a Christan but believes a person should rot in hell is not a true Christan.
 
I wouldn't want be friend with someone whoever I know that they are homophobia, especially in real life.

I am not talking about Christans..just talking about anyone who believes that gay people should rot in hell. Doesnt matter what religion they are.

Which devotion of Christianity is the true christian to you?
I've seen various forms and attended congregations, each are unique in their own.
