I'm home from surgery, and my mouth is full of blood (ew) but my doctor said I have to leave it there for several hours to allow the wounds to clot properly. He said something else too, but I think I have just the thread to write it in .. funny things uneducated people have said.

I'm glad to be home, and I'm glad that's all over!
 
Oh, freckles, I found out why no straws, because it creates negative pressure in my mouth that could remove the clots/gauze sponges and cause bleeding. Thanks for the advise =D

Okay, math quiz:

There are 24 hours in a day.

I'm prescribed 3 doses of Lortab per day, not to exceed 6 hours between doses.

Total number of doses not to exceed 3 doses per 24 hours, to be taken with meals.

OK, I took my 3rd dose of the day with supper, then went to bed about 2 and a half or 3 hours later.

3 hours after that, I woke up in extreme pain, but I've already maxed out my number of doses for 24 hours, and yet it has been more than 6 hours since my last dose. If I take one now, my next dose will have to be more than 6 hours away in order to prevent overdosing for the following 24 hours. I guess he thought I can sleep in pain just fine, but unfortunately, pain has a tendency to wake me. No way can I sleep with this pain.

I'm sorry you're in so much pain. :( What kind of surgery did you have?

As for your medication, perhaps you can ask your doctor if he will allow you to take 4 doses instead of 3.

I had oral surgery. My wisdom teeth shattered from overcrowding, so I had to have oral surgery to remove the shards and the roots from all four teeth. The surgery went great! Well, as far as I know, since I can't remember even experiencing it, LOL! I now have four holes in my mouth. They don't seem to be bleeding, but my stomach feels as though I've been swallowing blood. I may have to just put more gauze in there, but I hope not cause that stuff tastes nasty!

I was tolerating the pain just fine until I reached my dosage limit, and unfortunately in the middle of the night when the doctor's office is closed. It will open again in about 4 hours and 38 minutes. An hour before that, I can take my next dose, so I'll be swimming in paradise by that time :giggle:
 
Heh, since the risk of overdose is hearing loss, maybe I ought to take the initiative myself since I have no residual hearing anyway, lol! But I don't know if there are other risks, so it would be best if I could wait until the doctor's office opens.
 
Going to another wine festival today with my family. This time there will be the stomping of the grapes involved. I am really excited about that! It will be up in the mountains by Frederick so I am sure the Fall foilage is gonna be spectatular! Will post pics. :)

It's Sunday morning here now, in a few hours time, I will be taking part in a big walk raising funds for a children hospital for children with cancer. I will walk 10km (6 miles) with my mother. It gonna be a warm sunny day too at 32 deg celsius (89 deg Fahrenheit). :)

My daughter kept going back to compete in the stomping contest. She went for a total of 4 times and only lost once. She even beat me!

What a GREAT day! We just sampled different wines, bought one bottle of the wine we both liked, and just laid on the blanket near the band while our kids ran around the field. Such a relaxing day, inheed!

I will post pics when I upload the camera. Too tired now and soon I will go to bed cuz I got a buzz from drinking all that wine with the sun beating down on us. It was a chilly day ..brisk more like it. :)
 
I am trying to plan a fall trip where I can get pics of fall foliage in all of its splendor to share with you all. I think we are ready for a fall photo competition thread for the fun of it amongst AD.com members.

Yesterday I scheduled my DDs Christmas photo sitting at Olan Mills for the week of Thanksgiving. I pla on taking some of my own here at my parents house in front of the fireplace with my camera as it will give me practice for 'studio style' photo shooting although I dont have a hot shoe for my camera. However when the 10mpx cameras start coming down in price I may upgrade to a Nikon D70 model. :D :D :D And the Sony DSC-H7 can serve as a very good back-up. :D
 
I just ordered D60 and am waiting to arrive, can't wait. And the money's worth for the camera after all cause I got promoted recently, HAHA!
