The Bad: I may have to wait (maybe) until April of 2009 before I can begin class- city college. The reason? My statues as an independant on my return. This year I am listed as dependant so that may mean that I would have to wait for 2009 before enrollment. I wrote to my advicer to be certain.

The Good: I also told my advicer if I could meet with a Deaf group. I have a real strong feeling that I will attend a Deaf gathering very, very soon now in the college.

Cool, sounds like a positive news. :) Advicer? Do you mean advisor, AquaBlue?

AquaBlue, do you remember back in 2002 (or 2003) I told you about the Yahoo! Group called SignSoFla?
 
Don't worry! Time will go by fast before you know it. :) I am sure you will do just fine learning ASL somehow! :thumb:
 
Good to know that you moviate something in positive way...

Bring ASL pocket book to read if you are in waiting room next time...

I suggest you don't wait. If you keep postponing your goal you'll never reach it. Even if you can afford only one class on your own, take it. If you don't keep moving forward, you'll slide backward.

If you really want to attend college this fall, you WILL do it.

Yes I really do want to. I am (still) waiting for my advisor to reply. Her answer will tell me. I will not fall away from my goal regardless of what happens. At the very least I'll be attending a Deaf gathering(s) in the near future. That's a school in itself. :)

Oh and it's this summer term and not the fall term that I am aiming for Reba. :ty:

I'm glad that you won't let the "dependent/independent" problem stop you from attending this summer. :)
 
It might stop me Reba depending on how much I have to pay for enrollment. I think (not sure) that the enrollment is the same whether I take 1 class or more. I'm not sure though. I have been trying to get in contact with my advisor but she does not return either my calls or e-mail. :(

Luckily I am a patient man. Otherwise I'll be upset right now.

The ugly is reserved for all those stupid hearies that tick off the Deaf. Those few idiots who make all hearies look like insensitive jerks. They are the ugly.

Remember (important) that not all hearies are ugly- just a few (I hope). :)
