In the other thread about the child who doesnt age, the foutain of youth was brought up.

If someone actually finds the potion that actually keeps any of us from aging, would you take it? Do you think it would change the dynamics of society?

I would take it in an instant. And it would change society as we would need to reproduce less, or boldly go forth to explore new worlds.

I think it would change society in which people wouldnt have a concept of aging.

I would take it too cuz I do not want to wake up with stiff joints.

Hmmm:hmm:, excellent question. I am not certain that I would or wouldn't take it. There are so many implications.

Definitely it would change society.

:hmm:

Even if one did take the potion. Death can take place.

I don't know if I would take it, or not. Seems like it would have major consequences.

so sinister!! :giggle:

I would really have to think about that one. Good question though!!

I wouldn't do it. Death is inevitable and not something to be feared.

I've always said I'd love to live for 350 years, health permitting, cuz there's so much to see and do......

I don't know, I can't possibly think or imagine all the implications of taking it. I can't think of a good reason why I would be such a benefit to people or Mother Earth that I should prolong my life expectancy. If given the choice this minute I would decline. Death is not to be feared, just a natural part of our life cycle.

What if it doesnt prolong your lives but keeps u looking and feeling like a 20 year old all the way to your deaths? That was what I had in mind when I created this thread.

If the only advantage was looking like a 20 year old all my life, probably not.

Makes me think of the movie "Twilight" The Vampire was stuck at the age of 17.

Highlander was another Immortal show.

Both had hot young women in their arms.

:hmm:

I wouldn't necessarily want to look 20, but the good joints, no pain, great teeth, those are all things I would like to have even for just a normal lifespan.

Yeah, It would be nice to feel young while growing older but that is only a fantasy and it would be nice not to have all the pain of stiff joints, and not be able to move around slow. Nobody did not like growing old like me. I tried to go back into the ballet dance which I had taken long time ago from very young age to adult. I find it is really hard for me to dance anymore. My feet does not fit into the ballet slippers and not be able to wear normal size leotard (I gained weight). I was sooo disappointed about not be able to dance in the ballet anymore. Ugh. I realized my body was changing. It would be nice to live a long time like Tousi said. I don't know if that will be possible or not. It is just a dream. <sigh> :(

I would love to have my muscles, skin and bones be like of a 20 year old all of my life so I can continue to play sports hard.

It is hard when my mind is at a different age than my body!

Already with what limited advancements we have in medicing and technology the life expectancy has increased significantly vs 50 yrs ago.

The moral implication of taking a potion or elixir that would cause such an even higher raise in life expectancy could be dangerous. Look at the world population level at this time. if we were to overnight raise it 20 more years, thats scary with possible compliacations of overpopulation of the planet.

Im all for advanced medicine and giving those here a positive and enjoyable time here. I guess thats just what the fountain of youth thing made me think first. If they have a client that actually has no cellular depreciation- study and weight the ethical aspects too.

Sure I would take it I don't have nothing better to do than die

It would change everything.

I wouldn't take it... I look young enough at my age.... I'm 22 and most people think I'm 17 - 19 years old.

What about when u are nearing 40s? When I was in my 20s, I said I would never subject myself to plastic surgery but as I am approaching my 40s and some parts of my body are not what they used to be, I am starting to have wishful thoughts of finding a solution to get my body back to the way it was in my 20s. I wonder how I would think when I am approaching 60...

I think 30 is the perfect age, if I had my way I would want to look and feel 30 years old.
