People makes mistakes...the disc was proably ruined before they gave it to you. not before they sell it for preowned. so even new games get errors too.

Anything's possible.
 
Employess at EB or Gamestop always show me of used disc and make sure there are no scratch before I buy it. Always check disc first. Ask employees to put disc in demo consoles. To test if it runs good or not.
 
When I had my PS2, my best games for it were GT3 A-Spec, The Getaway, GTA III and Vice City (I didnt play GTA SA for the PS2) , Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero, and Stuntman.

Now Im beginning to see a bit of former exclusive PS2 games heading for the 360 like Stuntman 2, and Tokyo Xtreme Racer X (otherwise known as Import Tuner Challenge here in USA) along with the 360 getting GTA4 at the same time PS3 on release day.
