Nick bought the kit last June so he had been thinking about sucide for awhile. Or he had some trouble locating some helium.
Suggests the presence of a chronic illness.

The ones who I knew had no chronic illnesses.
On the other hand, I do know people with chronic and terminal illnesses, and they don't consider suicide as an option.

Because we talk. How do you know that for a fact? Just because they haven't actively attempted a suicide doesn't mean that they haven't considered it as an option.![]()
Because we talk.
Because we talk.
One could talk, talk and still be surprised at what happened.
Whenever Richard Cory went down town,
We people on the pavement looked at him:
He was a gentleman from sole to crown,
Clean-favoured and imperially slim.
And he was always quietly arrayed,
And he was always human when he talked;
But still he fluttered pulses when he said,
"Good Morning!" and he glittered when he walked.
And he was rich, yes, richer than a king,
And admirably schooled in every grace:
In fine -- we thought that he was everything
To make us wish that we were in his place.
So on we worked and waited for the light,
And went without the meat and cursed the bread,
And Richard Cory, one calm summer night,
Went home and put a bullet in his head
You're right, they aren't different. They're all on the verge of suicide. Everyone with a chronic disease is suicidal, so we shouldn't even try to talk them out of it. I'll go order a gross of the suicide kits and send them to all my sick friends.Oh, I see. And they tell you absolutely everything, right.
Do you know that those who are seriously considering suicide, and are intent on completion, do not tell anyone about their plans? What makes you think that the people you know would be any different?

Thank you Bott. A very moving illustration of the fact that people who consider, attempt, or complete suicide cannot be stereotyped or pigeon holed. You're right, they aren't different. What is your need to analyze and judge everyone's motives for things they post? What is it with your need to put everyone inside of a little box? Does categorizing people in a dichotomous way make you feel that your world is safer and more in control?
I feel sorry for the people they leave behind.all i am saying is stop feeling sorry for the people who kill themselves, if you dont know how they feel its not fair to push "your selfish or weak" card because one doesn't agree with it. If you want to kill yourself, honestly, you dont tell anyone and you do it. it is kinda selfish to try to keep someone on earth because you dont want to grieve for them, if u can see the pain behind there eyes i have a feeling this would be a very different opinion.
My father loved poetry and had me read a lot of it.I don't know how you found those interesting stuff!
There is something I did not know about.I remember the Simon & Garfunkel song version.

My father suffered depression and that poem was his favorite. I think it helped keep him grounded in a way.
