dodo for thanksgiving???

I'll be flying out to DR tomorrow morning till Saturday. we'll try to have our own little thanksgiving there.

TCS and I are going to our daughter and son-in-law's house for the first Thanksgiving in their new house. Our two grandsons, Aussie dog Piper, and three cats will also be there. :)

Turkey Day will be at my house. Everyone will bring a dish....a friend of ours is smoking the Bird.....Look forward to it!

My sister/hubby in N.C. is again cooking their Turkey in the ground, as the Pilgrims did.....long process, but well-worth the wait....

Happy Turkey Day to all AD'ers.

Thanksgiving + First Day Of Chanukah = ‘Thanksgivukah

I read some people are calling is Thanksgivukah , the first Day Of Chanukah is on Thanksgiving this year . So I guess my family will celebrate Chanukah and Thanksgiving.

I just asked my husband if he could make Sweet Potato Latkes!

Im gonna bust out my Green Bean Casterole everyone loves...mmmmmmmmmmm I could get sick on it myself ( just don't know when to stop eating it...LOL)

I never had sweet potato latkes, I bet they're yummy! I could buy them in a mixture but I bet it nothing like homemade one. What you do put on your latkes ? I put sour cream and unsweetened applesauce on my white potato latkes . What did your husband say?

It's on! We actaully have all the ingredients to make from scratch.

Sour cream and applesauce usually, but on Thanksgiving, I am going to go with a cranberry raspberry sauce that we already planned.

I saw another idea for horseradish infused mashed potatoes, but not too sure I would like that.

I'll be with my family. My Rottweiler Zeus and my parents' Standard Poodle Polly will also be part of celebration.

I guess you would use white horseradish with the mashed potatoes ,I don't think anyone on my family would like it. I am going to try and buy a challah , it will have to be from a grocery store as I have no Jewish bakery near me. I did buy some gold candy coins to put on the table. My daughter is cooking the meal . My younger sister and I where joking about putting a Yakama on the turkey.

Heading to my grandma's for Thanksgiving. My mom and brother will be there as well as other family members. On Saturday we'll be having the family thanksgiving, which will included everyone. It's tradition before my grandma goes to Florida for the winter.

Having our 4th Annual Thanksgiving Eve party at our house and then maybe go to my brother's in law's. Definitely will go to my brother's to watch the Ravens game in the hot tub. :)

I would think it would be hard to play football in a hot tub.

Cracker Barrel with my family. :ugh:

I prefer homemade foods.

Have a great thanksgivings to all of you.

Going to my daughter's (she lives with her in-laws). I'll be getting more grandson time (saw him tonight when the took me out for birthday dinner). Will probably see him again Friday afternoon. :)

Why is your family going to Cracker Barrel ? I never been there but I have seen their ads on TV and I was not very impress with the way food looked.

because they made decision and they told me that they are busy, but I offered them to cook the thanksgivings dinner at home, and they didn't want take my offer.

Cracker Barrel is okay, but better than many nasty fast foods.
