Hi I'm new here, I'm hard of hearing and I work at a hotel, we are looking for a place that sells just the phone hand set (reveiver) to plug into the phone when I work. I can not find a place that sells just the hand set. Can someone give me any idea's. Oh and they don't want to spend more than $30. :ugh3:

What are you taking about? Are you taking about a cordless phone? most cordless phone bases don't support multiple handsets and of those that do most don't support more than two. contact the manufacturer of the phone and they'll help you purchase aditional handsets for a single base (if it's possible)

Do you mean just phone receiver with amplifier only? Have you checked the phone company such as Verizon Phone Store or something like that?

VioletGirl23,

Having worked with telecommunications equipment for many years, I can tell you the best place to look is with the company that installed and services the phone system that the hotel uses. That way, you all are assured of getting a compatible handset.

That said, most modern telephone systems are highly programmable. And many times, the receiver's base with all of those buttons may have a way to quickly adjust the handset's volume.

Finally, be careful on ordering third-party add-ons. It may not be compatible, may void the main phone systems warranty, may be contrary to your service agreement, etc.

P.S. Welcome to AD!

You have to ask your boss to contact the phone company that install at the hotel. The phone company provided handset for the hearing impaired but once you quit or get fired. You cant take it with you cuz it is belong to the company. The law says that the company are required to provided the proper equipemnt for the disabilies. I used to work for the government and I got the handset for the phone but I cant take it with me once I left the job for good. But at least it help with my job.
