ATLANTA (Feb. 10) - Two teenage brothers were each sentenced to 10 years in prison for torturing a puppy by cooking it in an oven.

Joshua Moulder, 17, and Justin, 19, pleaded guilty in January to charges including burglary, criminal damage to property, terroristic threats and cruelty to children.

The brothers brought neighborhood children to see the dead puppy, then threatened to kill them if they reported it, prosecutors said.

Police said they found the dead mixed-breed puppy inside an oven at an apartment community center Aug. 21. Scratch marks were found inside the oven, indicating the puppy had been alive when it was placed inside, prosecutors said.

A necropsy on the 3-month-old dog found its paws and snout had been duct taped and it had been doused with paint before being placed in the oven, prosecutors said.

Authorities also found damaged computers, broken glass and splattered paint on the walls of the newly refurbished community center.

The brothers' first trial ended in a mistrial in December. Their attorney, Timothy Owens, said he had hoped his clients' sentencing would have focused more on rehabilitation than incarceration.




Its so unbelievable what the brothers did to the puppy. Gawd!! so sick. 10 yrs is abt right for the boys.

Scary that those teens are able to do things like that and not feel remorse. Makes me wonder if in their future, they will end up torturing or killing more animals or even people?
 
They put a puppy in the oven and cooked it? OMG...:sigh: but I'm glad to know they are sentenced to 10 years in prison...
 
Teenager boys are totally !@#$% stupid! to put dog in the oven. Glad they are in jail for 10 years to learn their LESSON!
 
and LIVE when they put the puppy in the oven!!! Poor puppy were scratching the oven to break free. damn the boys..
 
Hmm... is 10 years really enough? What they did was too severe!
 
Indeed it's inhumane and very cruel with what the two boys did to the puppy...however, it's even worse by gathering some kids (supposedly younger)...and threatening to kill them if they reported it. Ten years might not be enough considering the fact of the matter that they killed an animal, yet, threatening the very lives of 'others'...imo, I think a longer term would be more justifiable.

Also, very sad to see this sort of thing happening too--.

I agree with RR. These shits deserve to be locked up until they're old, gray, and unable to hurt ANY animal... except cockroaches and snakes.
 
I cannot beleive what the teenagers did poor innconnet puppy is an extreme... *shake my head disguit*
 
Still 10 years is better than suspended sentence or fines. In many animal abuse cases that we all had read in here, the abusers were usually fined or ordered to do community service and seek counselling as well banned from keeping pets.

However, these boys should have been incarnated for longer because by the sound of it, they're sociopath or worse. Torturing animals as well killing them are pretty much the sign of sociopathy. Rehabiliation'd help? I seriously doubt it.
 
I feel so sad about the dog, they should have gotten 50 years instead of 10 years, it is just disusting, poor poor dog! :(

You have reason to be concerned. A lot of sadistic or serial killers have a history of torturing animals and this has to be one of the most brutal cases of animal cruelty that I've heard of.

I'm afraid you're right. These teens are already a danger to people if they'd do this to puppies and children.
 
Put them in an oven

If I sound cruel with what I am about to say, I don't care. Any person that could do that to an animal deserves to suffer the same fate that they inflicted upon the animal. Prison time ? As we say in my hometown in New Jersey "Fuggedaboutit,". Put those guys into ovens and let them feel the pain that they have inflicted. I feel absolutely no sympathy for anyone that could do something like that to a puppy. Save all the taxpayer's some money, paying for their comforts in prison. Instead, build some ovens, shove them into them and let the public watch it on television for entertainment. I have nothing but intolerance and hatred for people that commit these kinds of heinous crimes against animals.
