Teen boy who suffers allergy to hair dye.. face swells twice the size

I saw that...he should have put the phone down and get to an ER as soon as possible. Very dangerous. I hope he didn't do this on purpose if he knew he had an allergy to the dye. Very, very dangerous thing to do. I also read about the poor woman in the link that was dying from the reaction of a hair coloring that I use to use myself. What scares me is that I remember feeling somewhat sick by it which is why I now have my hair professionally done. It's still not my favorite thing to do. The ingredient in the dye itself is banned in Europe and it should be banned here too considering the number of people that have severe reactions to it….

Allergies aren't a joke. I have allergies of unknown origin, that are sometimes chronic (1-3 years daily), sometimes sudden. My face has looked worse than that boy's face. (My swellings aren't so symmetrical.) I keep an Epipen handy.

The remedies aren't so cool for allergic reactions either. Lots of possible side effects.

I hope this boy and other kids like him will be more careful about what they put on and in their bodies.

Maybe it's time to go natural.

Men don't exactly get the hots for women with gray hair....and at 45, I don't see myself with gray yet...

There's an older woman in my building... I think late 50's to early 60's. I must say she's quite a looker. very fit for her age. I would ask her out. :naughty:

that's what my English professor always ramble about. he frequently criticized any students in the class for putting "chemical" on their head and it would seep down to their brain, making them dumb and cancerous

oh my god.... the Cabbage Doll!

I think women should color it, but there are a few that can pull it off.

This is why I do, but I admit, I wish we had the hair coloring used in Europe here in the States. I don't know how a product that has such a negative reaction with so many gets FDA approval....

my aunt is allergic to certain hair dyes as well and started going into anaphylactic shock because of a salon dye that was used

that's why FDA is a joke and you should find a local mom n' pop place that do make it. pricey yes but hey... better than a trip to hospital.

Yup, FDA approved HFCS, so of course, they are joke.

instead of using store bought hair dye - use kool-aid instead. just search on youtube for kool aid hair dye.. tons of it.

It will wash off after few shampoos. :ugh:

Poor to this teen so he will get limited choice.

I had dyed my hair before with store bought and works fine for me.

Wirelessly posted

I read on hair dye kits about allergy warnings and to test small area on skin before use. Simple enough, yes?
