Has technology made high school easier than it was 20+ years ago????? :hmm:

I am pretty sure it would be a lot easier.

I would love to try it again with the ability to just have everything right on a tablet and never miss anything.

I know so much more than I ever did due to the power of the internet and the ease of researching and learning.

And the ability to pretty much instantaneously get an ebook on any subject that interests me.

Unless the individual answering is a teacher now how are they going to know how things are done in both eras? Also, for some of us our high school years (generally grades 9 through 12 in the USA) were not 20 years ago but 50+.

Speculate. Even a teacher's answer would only be opinion.

I think this is more along the lines of your opinion. If you believe the availability of tech to students has made high school easier for them today than it was for your time.

Personally, I think while technology might make it easier to get information, I think students are expected to know more today (2013) than they were expected to know in the 90s, 80s, 70s. I would believe that as time went on, students are expected to know more information and it can be seen in the changes from standardized testing like SATs and GREs.

Did you have to take standardized testing during HS back then?

Ohhh you are focusing on the standardized testing. I thought you were speaking of the general academic because of old times we all were forced to use information through librbary and made us to write the reports or research papers a lot and did work with manual information than using the information from the internet. BUT today they have a standardized testing because they need to push more when lots of foreigners arrived in the amercia lately so they have to learn thereofre the testing right there.
