Another point: We're talking about the government is taxing earned income. Investment income like stock profits are taxed at a capital gains rate which is significantly lower than tax on earned income. That means that people like us are shouldering more than our fair share of taxes.

As the old saying goes, the rich get richer and the poor gets poorer. I wonder what it's like to be in that rich category? I wouldn't know!

rich category? been there. done that. hate it very much. I like where I am - Joe the Bum

I like to do everything myself.

The ones who move....just move to another state.....increasing the monies spent in that state. Nothing lost on a national sense. It proibably gets spread around more in a lesser state.
So....what is the point....slanted with left out info once again

I live in Houston, darkdog. We live in an overpriced area for the schools. It's the one area that didn't lose value in the Great Depression. Maybe we'll weather the real estate crash here. Suburban areas around Houston have been hit bad.

No question that Jiro is proud! :giggle:

My sister lives in Cypress and everything seems to be fine there, relatively speaking of course. What part of Houston are you in?

Maybe she's a person that is from Idaho, but landed in Texas?

Kinda like how shel90 is an Arizonian desert rat that is in Maryland?

Jiro, it says that I'm in *my own private* Idaho. Hat tip to the B-52s. :giggle:

but if he have children, he'll change his mind!
this morning, I just asked my good friend how's he doing with the new baby. He said - "pretty good... baby's good.... he shit on me several times while changing diapers"

I used to live in Colorado and my heart is still there. I love the mountains. :cool2:

I'd rather not give my exact location. Ya'll could be internet crazies!

My parents own homes here and yeah, property taxes are pretty high. I rent so I don't pay property taxes directly. I assume I pay my landlord's property tax indirectly in my monthly rent check, but rent is pretty low here, so it's all good.

My dad's been to Colorado. His plane landed on top of plateau to meet with major telecommunication company people. A rather titillating experience, I'd say! My dad & I are mountain people and my mom & my brother are city slickers
