Yet another uneducated reply, IMO.
The Post Office wants to have control of the internet, so that they can charge people for use of the internet. This is why I am talking about the post office. Post Office was caught by surprise with the rise of the internet and information highway and did not claim monopoly on it until too late.

Nightline showed a simular city that charging you and thats london. London has traffic cameras if you get in the express lane youll have to pay like 10 cents a mile Cameras get your tag number and keep track how long you stay in the express lane..So i figure out how to get rich quick off british people. I have the can of red light photo blocker. Ill have to advetise on E-BAY for british people want the red light photo blocker it cannot show you licence plates the cameras cannot pick it up it cost only 29.95 in the US. But ill charge it to the british for $100 each thats a profit of $70!!!!!! So im gonna try that.

I read the article. For years saddam was a dangerous man why you thing bushs dad declared war on iraq? Cause saddam is a modern day adolph hitler. We made our mistake by not getting to hitler sonner we waited until later and we were lucky. But we might be so lucky the next time. So Bushs dad stopped saddam right in his tracks before he could do futher damage beyond kuwait. But this is OFF TOPIC were talking about taxing by the mile not iraq.
 
Taxing folks by the mile traveled on their car would be an infringement on the right to travel, and also the interstate commerce clause. The only way to do it lawfully is to increase the already too high tax on gasoline and diesel fuel. I guess I could just buy a wagon and a team from my Mennonite neighbors. I've always liked horses anyway. Hopefully this "Mileage tariff" would only be enacted in socialist states.
 
If any politican thinks of doing this would be voted right out of office. Remember the N.O.W made a huge political threat if any politican takes away a womans right to choose would be voted out of office and this is former N.O.W Pat Sneal said..."" Hear our words,,Listen to our voices,,,Take away our rights,,Lose your jobs''" And many politicans were voted out of office because they tried to make abortion illegal in their state. Americans are tired of new taxes..Thats the reason george bush sr was voted out of office because he lied about promising "" READ MY LIPS NO NEW TAXES!!!"" pleadge, So im sure if this taxing by the mile goes on George W Bushs desk he will veto it and any governor takes this issue would be voted out of office.I bet arnold would veto this or californans will recall arnold and put bustamante in there. So republicans dont want to lose their power they know if they foul us up like the democrats i bet the green party might take shape.
 
Well, I think it will be defeated on grounds of unfeasable economics anyway. Liberals and conservatives will vote against it. For one thing, it requires insertion of expensive GPS equipment hooked to a computer in every new car. Then, on all existing cars, you either have to scrap them or retrofit them with the equipment. Then all gas stations have to have computer interfaces at the pumps. What about the gas you put in your lawnmower or ATV? On another angle, the law seeks to punish folks who opt for fuel efficient vehicles. The old addage holds true: "If you want more of something, subsidize it. If you want less of something, tax it". Better road surfaces are here and now. Recycled tires, glass, roofing materials added to asphalt have shown great promise. Just not as much money for the suppliers of traditional materials.
 
I just think millionares and billionares should be taxed much much more! Create a Corperate tax. TV Ad Tax. Wanna find a loophole that your product doesnt get taxed? Try billboard Ads or newspaper Ads. But puting your product on TV put a Huge tax on it! Advetising Acting Tax. That is Actors ,Actresses or pro sports superstars who act on selling a product 40% Deduction on what he or she makes on that commerical. Now thats a fair way to tax instead putting a crunch on the little people.
 
OR,,, Why not,,Just eliminate gas tax make every freeway and interstate highways become Toll Roads. Like charge you $3 everytime when you enter the highway. Main roads like wheres stop lights and intersections no toll. So highways dont become congested. And you only use the highway or freeways if you must go long distance so that way you wouldnt have back ups.
