Official Recommends Sharon Tate Murderess Stay in Prison

Friday , June 20, 2008

CORONA, California —
California's director of adult prisons is recommending that former Charles Manson follower and convicted murderer Susan Atkins be denied a compassionate release on the basis of terminal illness.

A prison spokeswoman says director Suzan Hubbard made the decision Wednesday.

Officials at the California Institution for Women had recommended that she be released to die in the care of her family.

The 60-year-old Atkins was held at the facility for decades before a move to a hospital to treat her brain cancer.

Hubbard's recommendation is advisory. The Board of Parole Hearings must decide whether to take up Atkins' case, and her original sentencing court in Los Angeles County would make the final decision.

Atkins confessed to killing pregnant actress Sharon Tate during a murderous rampage with other Manson followers in 1969.

Atkins was originally sentenced to death but when California banned the death penalty her sentence was changed to life in prison.

If you don't know who she is, here is some testimony about Atkins (also known as "Sadie):

..."She said she was holding Sharon Tate's arms behind her, and that Sharon Tate looked at her and she said she was crying and said to her, 'Please, please don't kill me, I don't want to die. I just want to have my baby.' She said, 'And I looked Sharon straight in the eye and I said to her, "Look, bitch, you might as well face it right now, you're going to die, and I don't feel a thing behind it," and in a few minutes she was dead.' IMO, compassionate release should not apply in this case. She was already shown compassion when her sentence was commuted to life in prison.

Reinstate Death Penalty For Her!

Yup, she's already received all of the compassion a civilized society can offer.

Glad they turned it down in her case. She doesn't deserve it. Hope the other followers won't ask for one someday too.

Up to this day, I can still recall myself and the world reeling in horror of those horrific crimes they had done, so no way should she be given compassionate release.
