sprint cancellation fee

My friend is driving me nut!!! He is having problem with sprint. His exwife and new hubby brought a cellphone and put it in my friend's account with his knowledge. I told him not to do that. So now that the bill is getting higher and it have been disconnected. He also found out that his exwife and hubby have transfer their phone to open up their own account which was successful. He also found out that once it was transfer and shouldnt be any cancallation fee but he did called sprint and found out there will be a cancellation fee. But he was told by his exwife that it should be any cancellation fee. So they all went to the sprint store and to talk to the sale person. The sale personn told them that there wont be a cancellation fee. So now he is worry about getting a cancellation fee and may ended up unable to turn his cellphone back on as he need it for an emergency.

Can anyone help my friend. I just wanted him to get off me and leave me alone so that I can focus on my son.
 
Can he remove their names on his account?
 
I have no knowledge about Sprint company... I wish I could knew more 'bout this one..
