Sports teams in your area...

OK folks, I should say curiousity gonna kill the gopher (MOI!!!) on this but I wonder about any sports teams in your area for ya... ya can list some if ya want but if there not a major sports team in your area ya can indeed list college teams too...

I'll start with my list and I will explain the reason why my choice...

Hockey - American Hockey League Manitoba Moose (NO NHL team but years ago we used to have the beloved Winnipeg Jets here till they moved to Phoenix to be known as the Coyotes now...)

Baseball - Northern League Winnipeg Goldeyes (the nearest MLB team for me would be the AL Minnesota Twins and also AL Toronto Blue Jays)

Football - Canadian Football League Winnipeg Blue Bombers and CIS (University football) Univ of Manitoba Bisons (defending CIS Vanier Cup Champs!!!)

Basketball - no major sports teams here but the nearest NBA team for me is both the Minnesota Timberwolves and Toronto Raptors but years ago we used to have the Winnipeg Thunder in both the old World Basketball League and North American Basketball League till that league folded for good...

Soccer - no major sports team but nearest one is the Major League Soccer Toronto FC Club that all but we used to have the Winnipeg Fury in the Canadian Soccer League until the CSL folded....

So do fire away and list your local sports teams (or the nearest ones if ya want to put in that eh!) and compare among other folks in here!

NBA-Oklahoma City Thunders (I ain't rooting for them though, I will always be a loyal Orlando Magic fan)

Baseball- Salt Lake Bees (AAA affiliate to Anaheim Angels)

Basketball- Utah Jazz (my favorite local sport to watch)

Football= AFL Utah Blaze (for any of u who havent seen any arena football- its RAD! BYU and University of Utah for college football.

Hockey- Utah Grizzlies (who I watch play your Manitoba Moose every year here)

Soccer- Real Salt Lake (Im happy soccer came here and that they actually competing this year and first place in our division)

Bowling- just me (JK)

Golf- theres Tiger then Me then everyone else!
