Hi,

I saw Sorenson offers Voice Carry Over on the website. Anyone have experience with this? Can I use it with my Blackberry device? I am going to email and ask, but I thought maybe someone already had some experience.
VCO, for clarification is when deaf or hoh voice for themselves and the operator types the other person's side of the conversation.

Thank you!

Yes you can use. I suggest CSDVRS! Your choice!
Dial to reach CA Operator, you see the Interpreter on the screen. Tell them you want "VCO, please?" They will switch the system to connect VCO. Then, they will ask for your cell phone that you are using. They dial the number to your cell phone first. Your cellphone will buzz, answer and confirm that you and interpreter can hear each other. If successfully, start making a call... who do you want to call, give the CA number to call. Once it connects, the CA will start interpreting for you. They will not use voice or interpreting voice. You are the one who talk on your phone. The callers will not know that you are using VCO or interpreter.

If you cannot talk, you can have someone next to you who can talk, interpreter can interpret for you but will not use voice for you. you have someone next to you can voice for you. you will be part of the call. If you want to learn more about VCO. GOOGLE VCO VRS. I suggest CSDVRS to learn more about CSD VCO. Go to the CSDVRS website.

Good Luck

using VCO requires a voice phone. it can be a cell phone or a landline phone. Just tell the interpreter you would like to use VCO and give them the VCO number . (hint its the voice phone number not your vp number) . as for your blackberry, does it have a voice plan? it can be by the minute (expensive) or monthly plan ?

Can any cell phone be used? Say I have a friend whose phone is right here, can i use that phone to do a VCO? Might be good for the kids to talk to their grandparents!!!

yes - any phone can be used in the same room as thee videophone is . just tell the terp the "VCO" number is. smile. I LOVE VCO.:D
