Not sure if this is a repost, and if it is, please redirect me to the post.

Just want to know if let's say I have Sorenson and my girlfriend has CSD VP, would we still be able to communicate with each other directly without any problems?

Thanks in advance.

"Sorenson to CSD" videophones are accessible via the knowledge and use of each device's IP address only.

Using the device phone numbers does not allow Sorenson and D-Link DVC-1000 videophones to be connected anymore (prior to Jan 2004, it was possible). You were able to before but then Sorenson decided to monopolize the videophone market by making their systems incompatible, forcing those who had DVC-1000's to either figure out IP addresses or acquire a Sorenson VP.

Sorenson's and Dlink's directory listing server not compatible, cuz it's totally different server IP addy for directory server... and you need create new short cut URL addy to connect the user's IP.. I used on my dyndns.tv's addy for many time they can put the alphanumberic addy on their user's vp box "Address book" listing... for my VP list directory online as VPlist and DeafVP website, I put the 000-000-0000 for privacy reason.. and simply put your short cut addy right after your name on deafvp list..

I have both Sorenson VP-100 and the Dlink DVC-1000. When someone tries calling me using their VP-100 I can answer it with the DVC-1000. It does not work the other way. I assume that this works because I am listed in Sorensons directory and when some one calls using thr VP-100 it somehow gets the IP address which the DVC 1000 can receive. Just a guess, I don't really know how it works.

one way is to have callers call you via public ip address. it doesnt matter which videophone to use. ofc, its hassle to keep up with the dynamic IP address

I think you may have misread what I said. If you use a VP-100 and dial my phone number the DVC-1000 will answer it. It does not work the other way. Why? Because I am listed in Sorensons directory.
