:cool:I would like anyones input if you can, on what is the best books to get on starting ASL as an adult? Video's or DVD's also. My local library has several but would like to buy my own too! Thanks to all!! :fruit:
 
Books by themselves are not a good way to learn ASL but they are a good supplement to learning.

I also like ASLPro.com Home because you can see the signs in motion rather than a flat picture. But even that is for reference only.

Sign Enhancer videos are good.

Is there any chance you can join a live ASL class? Also, search for any Silent Dinners in your community. You really need to practice with living, breathing signers.

I hope you can find what you need. :)
 
Yeah an ASL class is the best way but if not you can google ASL and find plenty of websites to help you learn. It's much easier to learn the signs by seeing them done vs. a 2 dimensional picture in a book. Good luck.

I am a long way from any colleges or schools. No community here that I can find so until I can get into a class, I figured I'd at least learn the alphabet Thanks for your advice!! :wave:
