Is there such a law for solicitation from VP/VRS providers without your permission?
For almost two months now, I had been receiving calls from [at least four different] people from HOVRS. I believe they wanted to come over to my place to set up VP for me.
I didn't sign up for their VP/VRS services other than being forced to sign up to view their video clips. A few days later, I received a message from someone saying that he would set up time for him to come over to set up VP for me. The person sent me at least six messages. Since I have never spoken to anyone with HOVRS, this was why I didn't bother to respond to any of his messages.
I don't know if this was any connection to HOVRS. There was a plain white commercial-type van with a logo without telephone number on it came here on the same week (last month). The man (I didn't get to see his face at all) knocked on the door for at less than thirty minutes and stayed in the van for about ten minutes before leaving. Someone I know spotted the same van last week and said that the man was sitting in the van front of a house. I know of two older deaf people living somewhere on that street (I don't know which house(s) they live in).
