Sign Language Experts Needed

I don't know if it's just me but I had difficulty understanding what you were signing. I am fluent in sign language but I almost had no clue what you were saying as a whole. I was able to pick up some signs but I could not make out the sentence or story you were trying to tell.

For me, my pet peeve is a signer that doesn't move their mouth or mouth the words they are signing. It makes it harder for me to understand them. I understand this is probably required when learning ASL/Signs in classes but there are some deaf people that don't speak/mouth their words while signing and that makes it harder for me to understand them.

the research I'm doing is regarding how difficult it is to communicate in signed languages when no mutual language is shared. i am aware the videos aren't perfect...but i didn't really have anyone to make them for me and i don't have funding to pay people for their time. only one of the videos was in asl. i did have my teacher change the english into asl so the grammar for that video was correct. i intentionally signed slow because i also was showing the videos to people who have no knowledge of any sign language, and i thought it would make it more possible for them to catch something if they saw it at a slower pace (which did end up being true)
But you see, you can't make a fair analysis if your signing sample is corrupted. You really aren't using ASL as your base; you're using "Mary's signs" as your base, and that's not a common language to anyone.

However, if this is just a homework exercise and not real academic research maybe it's not that critical. Just don't make any definitive assumptions based on your little experiment.
