Shooting at Colorado high school

:hmm:

Interesting:

Students said Pierson held communist views and liked to discuss current events and issues, offering his own solutions. None said Pierson was bullied for his beliefs.

In one Facebook post, Pierson attacks the philosophies of economist Adam Smith, who through his invisible-hand theory pushed the notion that the free market was self-regulating. In another post, he describes himself as "Keynesian."

Pierson also appears to mock Republicans on another Facebook post, writing "you republicans are so cute" and posting an image that reads: "The Republican Party: Health Care: Let 'em Die, Climate Change: Let 'em Die, Gun Violence: Let 'em Die, Women's Rights: Let 'em Die, More War: Let 'em Die. Is this really the side you want to be on?"

He advocated gun control ... then went on a killing spree (in a gun free zone).

One student claimed that he was bullied a lot.

"He had very strong beliefs about gun laws and stuff," said junior Abbey Skoda, who was in a class with Pierson during her freshman year. "I also heard he was bullied a lot."

Other one.

"He was exuberant, I guess," Conrad said. "A lot of people picked on him, but it didn't seem to bother him."

He seems no fan of President Obama as well. (from CrazyPaul's link above)
In other posts, he touted his support for gay rights and made fun of Republicans but then also wrote on Facebook that he did not believe that President Obama did not deserve a second term in office.

His friends and fellow seniors Carl Schmidt and Brendon Mendelson told The Post that his political views were ‘outside the mainstream’.

The librarian was his main target, but he shot 2 students and killed himself after can't find librarian. That was very different from Newton case, in Newton case, AR-15 was involved that result in 26 dead, including 20 children, but in this case, the shotgun was involved and just shot 2 students, so that sounds like less than massacre because massacre needs larger of people dead or injured. The students said that librarian was his main target because librarian kicked him out of team.

Most gun control proponents want assault weapon like AR-15 banned, but in this case, the assault weapon like AR-15 wasn't involved.

This school is located in suburb of Denver that usually more independents, moderates or liberals.

It sounds like he was depressed and went out to shooting as revenge. The school shooting is difficult to prevent, no matter if you allow to arm the teachers, so some people will still get killed or injured, however you could make less severe instead of more severe case like Newton's case. I believe that students with depression need serious attention, along with other mental illnesses like schizophrenia and bipolar disorders.

Sounds like you are afraid to do it. Why?

Not afraid to do it at all.

I once told a superior court judge just how crazy a particular person was, explained there was violence in that family. The defense attorney representing that person attempted to portray me as a lying schizophrenic.

The mother in that family shot the guy, shot the dogs, set the house on fire then shot herself.

I guess the moral of the story is, be prepared to be called crazy by the crazy person you accuse of being crazy.

That doesn't answer my question but that's OK.

How was the student able to get the gun in the first place, did he get it from him home? There has to some way to keep guns out kids hands , and it should start at home.

Anyway I'd like to talk about deaf people at school/work and in a neighborhood as well. Some of them get upset when people are making fun of their sign language non-stop. Even though they are not mentally ill, one might go postal, who knows?

My point is that people should leave mentally ill, disabled, gay or nerdy people alone if they dislike them or make friends with them if they are open-minded like me since they are human beings like us. It's really sad to see people, "troublemakers" still offending (or bullying) those human beings.

No, he just bought shotgun after 18th birthday.

In Colorado, you can buy shotgun when you hit 18th but 21st birthday for handgun.

It looks like school need strong anti-bullying measurement.

The bullying at school make children so more depressed or anxiety disorder.

If my future child gets bullied so I will going homeschooling my child and heavily, intensively pressure on politicians to take my taxes out of public school to fund the homeschooling education.

This particular student apparently wasn't bullied. He had blood lust revenge on his mind - felt he had been slighted and wanted to "get even". In other words, he was the bully.

What about the censorship and bullying of Christians?

You missed my post - one student said that he was bullied a lot.

How would you know about him? You don't know about him, except for news and just take words from other students.

The religion is already PROTECTED under anti-bullying policies, so the religion include Christianity, Islam, Jews, Buddhist, Hindu and others.

The public school don't have official religion, so it is effectively separation of government and church. The students are free to pray themselves, especially at mealtime, read the bible book during free time and use quotes from bible book for projects if teachers deemed as good source, especially history or literature.

If you want religious-focused education, you have to send your child to private school or homeschooling your child.

If Christians bully LGBT students because they don't agree with their sexual orientation - that's unacceptable and intolerance, even if Christians try to claim that they are immune to anti-bullying policy, that's not true and they will punished for bullying. If you don't like LGBT students, so leave them alone, if you don't like Christians, leave them alone. Respect is respect. There are many LGBT students suffer from depression and anxiety disorders, due to bullying and some of them committed suicide.

I'm enough with extremely dumb political game about whichever groups should receive a special treatment, especially in Tennessee, some politicians want special protection for Christians that allow them to bully LGBT students because of religious reason.

Yeah, that one wanted to kill his target, a staff who kicked him out of the debate team whether or not he was bullied by other students. He did it because he felt small.

My post was about in general, not about him particularly. What I was trying to say is when people make those innocent human beings feeling small, it can make things worse. Copycats are everywhere now. They don't give a fu*k anymore.

How would you know about him? You don't know about him, except for news and just take words from other students.

And I still wouldn't know anything about him if he wasn't a person bent on revenge that went on a killing spree.

Weird how that works eh?

Well, I for one, don't think children should be indoctrinated in any kind of 'sexual orientation" program in public schools. That is an adult topic, much like pornography. It's funny that you would consider my views to be bullying since you know I am a Christian.

So what about it? how about the censorship and the bullying of Christians?

I've seen children (more so teens) who are Christians are friends with the LGBT community. I know a Budhist who bullied a Muslim (self-proclaimed Buddhist). Bullying happens for many different reasons, so let's not blame everything religion with bullying. It happens but there are so many other reasons people bully others as well.
