self serve drink warnings

I am going to keep bringing my own bottle of water when I eat out, I do not drink anything but water or coffee when I eat out.

That is why I brought Gatorade, and also use my own water bottle, which is metal.

How would you check for lye in your drink?

How would you check for lye in your drink?

If it's been tampered with, I wouldn't buy it, but since I don't have any true way to test for lye, I just need to be careful.

You can drip it in carbonated water and it will fizz, but if you sip, just enought to touch your tongue, not a mouthful.... really no way to test it basically just be safe than sorry. Poor lady in the vid to a swig and swallowed.

Litmus paper? That stuff is very alkaline, since tea is kind of acidic, if it smells buffered or chemically sweet, then no, but it's still unpredictable unless chemically checked. I don't bother with open public containers, I always opt for a sealed bottle if it's available.

Nope, those lines feed to the rear of the store/restraunt where goods are stored as well as chemicals...never know what someone can do to them. Employees switch out the empty bags/boxes of syrup ( wouldnt you think someone could stick the sprite line in bleach or something as well?
