Schrenko Reports to Florida Prison

Former state schools superintendent Linda Schrneko begins her eight-year sentence Monday at a federal women's prison in Tallahassee, Fla.

Schrenko pleaded guilty in May to her role in the embezzlement of more than $600,000 intended for deaf and honors students.

Authorities say some of the money was funneled into her unsuccessful Republican campaign for governor, and she spent about $9,300 for a facelift.

Her attorney had requested the low-security prison because there are no federal prisons for women in Georgia.

Schrenko is a former teacher and the first woman elected to a statewide, partisan office in Georgia.

mostly Supt in deaf school or public school cant spend all of their money for school supply only but really needs as order school supply,bills,etc and dont buy as personal things like that to pay for that!

im sure that woman will learn lesson for that and dont spend with personal things what wanted and pay as plastic surgery more lots of money.

Minimum security federal prison? This must be joke!!!! She is having easy sentence! She should have been send to medium security state prison instead!

I think it has to do with her age, she is getting to be a old lady and her crime is not that so bad enough that she would have to be put in with very young violent women in medium or max. prison. She should not have stolen money for a facelift operation. I am sure the state pays her a very good salary as a superident so why did she steal anyways, I hope she learns her lesson and in prison I am sure that she will be reading the KJV Holy Bible and she will see Leviticus Chapter 19 Verse 14
