Scalding a child.

'Tis the season

Seems this time of year, these kinds of stories go up. People either commit suicide or they kill family members..and its often apparent they didn't mean to do it. I don't know if its holiday pressure or what. That story sickens me. She didn't just kill the kid, but the kid died in its own bed after being burned. One can only hope the kid was unconsious for most of it.

Let's get a grip here.
Taylor said the key word, "seems." It SEEMS these stories are popping up more and more. In no way does that mean they are happening more, that the world is becoming crazier or whatever.
It SEEMED that there were record-breaking numbers of tornados this year, for example, but that turned out to be because more people nowadays have camcorders and tv stations were more than willing to purchase those tapes to increase their viewing rankings. But it turned out that this was a normal year, tornado-wise. Our PERCEPTION was affected through the boob tube, from us watching it and going, Whoa, things are getting outta control.
I am just afraid that there will be enough people who actually take such articles and news on blind faith and demand that a National Guardsman stand on every street corner, and the wish will be fulfilled.
Careful what you wish for.

Yes, it is this time of of the year where everyone gets unusually stressed out due to holidays expectations, bills and family squabbles.

One of my closest friends husband is a cop and he hates working during Christmas because it is NEVER pleasant. More people die over Christmas than any other holiday due to suicides, family squabbles and alcohol/drug usage.
