Hi everyone,

Tigger has continued to have accidents in my apartment. She was doing well for awhile after her vet put her on a med to help control her bladder, but she is back to having problems again. I've decided to give her to my sister who can take care of her. I can't keep cleaning up accidents on a daily basis and worry that if this keeps happening, the carpeting in my apartment will need to be replaced. My sister will be picking Tigger up later this afternoon, so I plan to spend as much time with her as I can before saying goodbye. I'm crying as I write this because I'm going to miss my baby so much. It will be difficult sleeping tonight without her by my side. :(

No words can take away your pain over this impending separation. However, cherish the wonderful times that Tigger and you have had over the years. It sounds like she has certainly achieved her goal in being a friend, helpmate, and daily brightener of your day. My thoughts and prayers go out to you as you deal with this sad, sad period in your life.

Yeah I agree with dorothy, remember all the good times and memories of being with Tigger, will you still be able to visit her at your sister's? If so then great, maybe you'll still be able to see tigger but she just wont be living with it, i know it can be a huge change in your life, my thoughts are with you

I am sorry about Tigger. It is a really sad thing that dog's lifespans are so much shorter than our own.

Tigger is HA's trained dog since she is deaf blind...

I'm so sorry to read about that! Knowing how much Tigger means to you I am sure it will be difficult to let go of him. It's a good idea to cherish the last moments with your dog. Keep in mind the good memories you have shared with Tigger. You also know that Tigger will be in very good hands, I'm sure your sister will take very good care of your beloved dog!!!!

I know those are only words, but I truly mean them. Tigger was the best companion for you, a family member, somebody to hold on to!

Aww I am so sorry that you made very difficult decision. I am sure your sister will take care of her very good...what's more you can visit them! HUGS! Go and spend a lot of time with Tigger....I know she is a great dog!

:cry: awww, noooo, am so sad with you, HA!! A couple of years ago we made a similar decision with my dear beloved Rottweiler :grouphug:girl who was our first Rottie and our soul-dog. We loved her dearly and still miss her so and I think all the time. She would have been 11 years old on April 4. Hard to express such sadness....I am thinking of you. Our young Rottie girl now sends you many of her sweet Rottie kisses and hugs and our dear old 11-yr. old Lab sends many tail wags to you :grouphug:
 
I'm really sorry that you'll have to let go of tigger but I'm sure your sister will take good care of her. :grouphug:
 
Hereagain , I know exactly how you feel. I am desparately attempting to find ways to keep a dog above the average weight here, such as a therapy dog for Lucky dog to stay with me or else :( bye bye
 
I'm sorry that Tigger is moving to a new home. Take comfort in the fact that you know she will be taken care of well.

Thanks for all of your hugs and well wishes. <hugs back>

I gave Tigger to my sister yesterday when I saw her for Easter. I cried when I said goodbye and gave Tigger plenty of hugs, but now that I've had time to think about it, I'm glad I made this decision. Tigger will be better off now that she can be in an environment where someone can take good care of her. I didn't sleep at all last night because I was afraid that I'd start crying again. I'll probably end up crying tonight, but I know these feelings will pass. I do feel better knowing that I can see Tigger whenever I want, so this isn't a permanent goodbye. :)
 
I know it's not a permanent goodbye but you are allowed to cry. Tigger wasn't just any dog to you... she was very special (not that other pet dogs aren't) but she was serving you well during all those years...

It's good to know what she is in a place where she will be take good care of and that you can visit her any time you want!

Will you big getting another dog soon? If yes, do you know which one...?
