Rudest Workers? Australia!

**COUGH** Am I a small aussies? huh? Thanks a lot!

Sorry Koala, I forgot you too. I guess I like all the Australians I know. :)

I guess I have just met a very unusual group of Australians. I often hear that Australia is known for being laid back, and for being lax etc. But the Australians I have met have been very uptight and very bent on manners. So I don't know if there is some other common thread among the Australians I have met, but I experienced this both while I was in Australia for 3 weeks, and also from numerous Australian teachers I had.

Not sure what to make of it.

From my heart as a british person, In 2000 and 2001 I travelled alot parts of the world. I find Amercia, Austrialia and New zealand the most chilled out countries, South africa is very different due to their culture but i loved SA aswell.
I was in san Francisco on my own for the first time (i have travelled before but with family/friends and only in Europe) I was only 22! I was there for 3 weeks. The hotel in Pacific heights was so friendly with me and made me feel very at home. When I missed my flight (due to shuttle bus not turning up) they let me stay at the hotel and called the airline to complain that it wasn't my fault etc. It was nice, I got lift with hotel owner the next morning for my flight.
When i was in new zealand, I was there for 8 weeks and stayed with a family who i never met or had regular contact, it was 2000 when we started to get in touch, she let me stay at her house for 8 weeks, i could be an axe murderer!
I feel British should loosen their shirts and chill out bit more. Be more friendly with each other and open their homes bit more. Seriously I had bit of shock when i came back to britian after nearly 2 years of travelling.
